After almost 6 years, Dante's Abyss makes its well deserved comeback. Even though I won't be participating, I look forward to seeing how the event will play out here in the Omniverse.

Signs up will start in about 5/6 weeks.

That period will last for about a week and a half.

Concrete dates will come with time.

This is to provide me with the time I'd like to continue to flesh out the back story and to release rules and everything in a calm, orderly fashion, rather than dumping it all in at once.

Is this gonna be one of those sagas where we can stop our own personal stories (threads) mid-stream to enter, and then can return to our own stories?

I'd strongly prefer not to, but I might may exceptions for certain cases (like someone with IRL stuff that prevents them from writing for a chunk of time between now and then).

Part of the reason why I wanted to go public ahead of time was to give people this 6-8 week period to get to a point in whatever story/stories they are writing where they could break away and return to.

They can accompany you to the Dante Verse during the sign-up phase, but they won't be able to accompany you to the island once the competition start.

You may, however, continue to write them as observers, whether from the 'pre-show' facility or elsewhere in the Omniverse.

@Sasuke - Assists will be done on a case-by-case basis.

@DP - Separate thread. Either elsewhere in the Omniverse or using one of the threads for the facility (there'll be separate threads for all the areas that characters can write in as they wait for the registration period to end, and then once the contestants are on the island, anyone left behind can continue to post there as well).

I'm too busy with my own plans to be able to participate. Plus, with my post rate currently being what it is, I wouldn't be able to keep up at a satisfactory rate anyway.
