A strained sigh rose up from Clownpiece’s chest, muffled by her closed lips as all feeling slowly returned to her. With her eyes shut tight, she stretched luxuriously, arms overhead and back on the ground. Warmth suffused her sleepy muscles, and the fairy let out a deep breath, relaxing once again. She opened her eyes slowly, adjusting to the endless white she was met with again.
“Ah....” Another small noise escaped her. For a few seconds she simply laid there, staring blankly at the emptiness, before she thrust herself up into a sitting position. Her hands shot up to her head and patted against the purple fabric atop her head. She cast a quick glance down to her body, to her star-spangled dress, back in one piece. Her eyes flicked over to her right, where the endless white of the Nexus was broken by the lunatic purple glow of her torch.
“Alright!” She let loose a cheery exclamation, grabbing at her torch with her right hand. The hell fairy sprang to her feet and lifted her arms up in another needed stretch. That death game hadn’t turned out quite how she’d hoped, but there was always next year. For now, she needed to-
“Clownpiiiiieeeeece!” A jubilant shout sounded out from behind the patriotic fairy, jarring her right out of her thoughts, and suddenly a heavy and cold weight slammed into her from behind. Clownpiece’s breath was forcefully expelled from her chest, and the sheer momentum behind her bombastic friend threw the both of them right off their feet. The two fairies crashed into the featureless ground and tumbled for a few feet before rolling to a stop.
“Hi... Cirno...” The newly-revived girl said unenthusiastically, head spinning. A rather heavy weight pressed down into her from above, suffusing her back with a spreading chill.
“Jeez, it took you long enough to revive,” Cirno grumbled from atop her, “I’ve been waiting here for hours.”
“Yeah? Well I’ve been dead,” she shot back, slowly getting her bearings back.
“So was I!” The ice fairy exclaimed indignantly.
“...Good point,” Clownpiece conceded, falling silent for a moment before continuing. “How’d you die anyway? Someone broke my eyes in the arena so I wasn’t able to see.”
“I took on two people at once and almost kicked their butts!” Her haughty tone was back again, and the cold weight was finally lifted from the blonde’s back.
“Woah,” she slowly got back up to her feet, voice filled with awe. “I just fought a really angry guy. That was such a bad match-up though!” she turned to face her friend, grabbed her chilly shoulders, and leaned in really close. “How do I drive someone mad if they’re already mad!”
“Uh...” Cirno could do nothing but hum absently as Clownpiece shook her.
