“Looks like the fiend has made its choice,” Revan yelled over the fading sound of the lumbering titan. The necromental’s gargantuan girth shook the very foundation of the building as it lumbered after the swordsman’s comrade. “But if we leave Ash behind he’s as good as dead.”
“The slayer can handle himself,” Kanda replied, gazing down the hallway at the distracted abomination and then back to the other Liberators. “He bought us this chance for a reason. We need to find Judge Man. If he dies, so will all of the Darklings here.”
Celestia looked much less sure of the decision, doing her best to avoid being flattened while they talked, large chunks of ceiling crashed beside her. “But we might need Ash to fight Judge Man, we didn’t do so well last time.” She paused glancing around the ruined entryway. “Where is Chara?”
“I assumed she was behind us,” Revan said, responding with a small shrug. “Maybe she fled back through the gate?”
A few moments of silence settled over the group as they mulled over their decision. Before they could come to a conclusion, an eerie groaning echoed through the castle. The group turned to spy another small squadron of rotting fiends shambling through the shattered wall, sights set on them.
Kanda readied his bow, his eyes trained on the shambling dead. "Nevermind the zombies," he commanded. "We can outrun them!"
They’d have choose, and quickly. Follow Ash or find the Judge?
