Cassandra pleaded, “Come on, it’s over! We can go now!”
The vampire was excited about something and when she had returned from the hallway, as though she’d seen a genie grant someone a wish. The smile hadn’t been torn off her face for anything, not what was happening on the screens that told of the island, and not when the ending to the games had been decided. In fact, that seemed to perpetuate her grin. She was happy they were over. Probably, so the vampire could continue on her quest to find her missing sister.
“Go?” Cana complained, her cheeks were red but she was losing her buzz, “Listen, I’m not going until I don’t see Gildarts on the screen anymore. He’s still fighting that guy in a suit, see?”
The pale creature rolled her eyes, “You’ve got to be kidding me.”
Cana shook her head, with the brunette locks rolling around her shoulders, “I want to be there for him.”
“But if we go now, we can meet him where the survivors come out…” Cassandra said.
“I have to know that he will survive,” Cana said sternly, unwavering resolve burned in the passionate amber eyes. The same shade as her father’s.
Cassandra sighed, “Ugh, fine, but like, if we are the last ones in this room, I’ll kill ya.”
Dax was still there, eyes glued to the screen of Jak, who the shortie was rooting for. The odds were in the Dynamite’s favor, as it was a three on one. Across the way, other people still seemed to be enjoying themselves too. It was… Kind of like a picnic, a very homey setting where people united to be there for their companions. Cassandra felt more lonely than ever, she couldn’t even genuinely root for Gildarts, but she was at least there to support Cana.
“Fine. As soon as Gildarts pops out though, we’re heading too. Any guess to where he’ll go to?” Cassandra said.
Cana thought about it, “If I were him, I’d go back to Ambrosia, but that’s assuming he’s.. Coherent enough.”
“What do you mean by that?” Cassandra asked.
“Well, before he got into a fight with that guy I noticed up until now he’s had like… A glossy look in his eyes and sweat on his forehead. He might be sick… Or if you noticed that one time he was talking to himself and it was like he heard a voice talking back at him. The audience probably assumed he was talking to the cameras or something, but I know better. Gildarts just isn’t like that.” Cana spoke. “Something is wrong.”
“Wrong?” Cassandra sighed, “Listen if something was wrong, I’m sure he’d go and get it removed, or get treated by a doctor-”
“No. This is worse, and… Gildarts doesn’t really need a doctor for much, magic usually heals him, maybe not here in this world though. Hm, I just wish…” Cana trailed off.
“Don’t worry, we’re almost there,” Cassandra comforted. It was almost over soon.
Their eyes fell back to the screen with the ginger mage commanding the fight against the quippy weird secret agent man, who had a censor block around his crotch. Gildarts had exploded cars, pulled out an army of swords from thin air, in this fight, and continued to pummel his opponent. Not to mention his last fight in the arena, he’d broken the bleachers and stone supports into little cubes like they were nothing but a fly in his way.
Cassandra’s vampiric eyes fell down to the Fairy Tail wizard beside her, if this was her father, what type of power did Cana hold within?
