Becoming a Calamari Criminal

Within an hour, the place was swarming with cops. They took inventory of the mauled bodies, how they were even lined up for the shark. The lieutenant moseyed towards his Captain.

“What do you think? Do you think the shark did all this or did it have an accomplice?”

“We both know sharks work alone.” Said the Captain as he looked through the casefile notes. “We’re looking at a particularly dangerous shark, one that has learned how to pursue its victims on land as well.”

“Think he could still be in the area?”

“We both know sharks aren’t the type to hide. He must have fled to kill someone somewhere else.”

“Are you sure sir?”

“Of course I’m sure! Now put out an alert for the shark, it must be on the loose somewhere on Costa Del Sol.”

“Alright.” The lieutenant said before punching in the order on his phone. “Do you think this place will re-open?”

“Nah, the owner got chomped, and the heir doesn’t seem to want anything to do with this place according to his phone call. This water park maybe left to rot.”

“It’s a shame.”

“That it is. Now, that all the bodies have been catalogued, we best clear out. Leave this horrid place to it’s unoccupied future.”

“Yessir!”

Within the next hour, all the bodies were collected and the cops were all gone, all of them except the Captain, who stayed behind. He stood by the pool, smoking a cigar, surfing the dataverse on his phone.

He saw the report go out on the shark, an island wide hunt for a shark that could walk on land. His face contorted into a smile.

“They bought it!” He said with twisted glee.

Suddenly, the police captain’s skin started to melt into a flab. He grew big saggy breast and giant afro hair. Suddenly, it was just Dama in a cop uniform.

“That should get the cops off our backs for a while, don’t you think, squid girl?”
