It would surprise people to know how little a twenty-something man regrets given his relatively twisted past.
It's unclear how you are chosen, but once forced to live the life of a contractor you gain incredible power, a ritual required for given power, a code name, a satellite, and a new life full of death. Dust has killed a lot of defenseless humans, mercenary contractors, several people who were just in the wrong place at the wrong time, and even his own step-mother who raised him for sixteen years.
And yet, his curse was also his shield. Under the protection of that same title, Dust was able to spill the blood of so many while maintaining a veil of apathy towards their pleading desperation and panic. He’d been the stone-cold killer that the circulating stories rumored all contractors to be; his sins were null and void, his consciousness, clear and free, and his morality untainted.
So, when the magical screaming storm sprang to life and spun around him violently it was hard pressed to find anything to feed upon. Dust lifted his arms to guard his face, expecting the wailing banshees to toss him off the deck and into the choppy water all around them. Surprisingly he stood. Glancing over, his guard dropped after seeing an old face.
Drake had always seemed to embrace the stereotypical vampire image. His black hair long on top and faded around the back of his skull, his skin was so pale from nightly missions that kept him out of the sun, his body slender and plain. Closed lids, only to open very slowly to show shadowed voids instead. It was disturbing to say the least, but hearing his old enemy's voice left a lasting impression. “Make a wish..” Eyeless, he still produced a sad and tired look. “...Freedom..”
Ice magic formed around Drake, five crystallized spears impaled Dust through his already holy torso before melting away… The pain was real, as real as it had been if Drake were dealing the damage himself from beyond the grave. Dust just gritted his teeth and closed his eyes, trying to will the sorcery away. Through the racing winds he heard her voice...
“Star Dust.” It was as clear as Tamsin’s had been and reaching deep into his heart. Eyes flashed opened to see a woman in front of him whose whereabouts were lost to him. Her long blonde hair fluttered behind her head as she looked up at him with the same neutral face she had worn when convincing him to come with her months ago. She reached out as though expecting him to take her hand, eyes shinning truthfully.
Back then the attempt at friendship was lost on him, but as he retraced his steps in that instant he realized now that she was offering him kindness. His hand reacted on its own as he reached out for her.
Behind him, the shadows of a spell formed once more. A hulking beast rose up behind the unsuspecting - distracted even - man. The ears pointed to the sky, the eyes were slits of white and the looming creature was covered in deep maroon fur. If Higgs could see it, he might even think it was his artefact altered form, but it was the wolf hidden deep inside Hokori which appeared. It towered over the already impressive height of its host and only grew bigger. The imposing wolf formed behind solider 389 and the waiting woman. Before Dust could even turn to face the beast, eight claws drove themselves into his shoulders, leaving an 'X' across his back
SW-808 yelled out in pain and fell through the vortex as the winds dismiss into wisps of smoke, drifting into the air and mingling with the fire’s dark plumes.
No normal man could ever hope to survive being pumped full of lead, punctured by the icy spires of the past, slashed by his own clawed daunting destiny, and get back up again. He'd won.
Except the victory was short lived as Spades watched the large man's hand twitch before it moved into place, palm on wood Dusty Star lifted his dead weight from the damp wood and back onto his ruined feet.
Blood poured out of new and old wounds as Wolf looked Harlan in the eye. “No.. Just one..” He remarked, then grinned.
Right before the vampire's eyes, Lycan's jaw grew thicker and his teeth reformed into sharp fangs. The gangster knew of at least one creature that could withstand this kind of punishment and could also transform, the realization was alarming. In another flash of inescapable speed he was tackled to the ground forcefully, above him Dust's maw burst open before the jagged teeth cut through his meaty shoulder, ripping out a large piece of it.

Quote:800 words by WordCounter - Big finally.
Dust doesn't do regret or fear, not directly. But inside him is a wolf ready to consume him once more. Deep inside he doesn't want to go back to the way he was..
-Dust uses Play Dead - its not an actual move, he just crashes into the veranda after eating the damage like a champ.
Then he gets up and reveals that his inner wolf is the only demon he has.(Survivals save my ass!!)
-Dust uses A Pup's Bite to damage Vic's good shoulder, and reveals that his inner wolf to Vic. (Say hi to YOUR demons)
That's all she wrote~!
Absolutely loved writing this, btw.
See ya on the other side. xD (w/Love)
