Dante's Abyss -- Spectator Thread
#37
Although the cat had already packed away many drinks, she still seemed to comprehend things around her normally. Her body was starting to be affected by the alcohol, but her mind seemed to be in the right place still. She wasn't slurring total nonsense and could hold her conversation rather well compared to anyone else that might think they could drink as much as her.

The faunus shivered when the demon next to her began to question her about her time on Dante's Abyss. She still remembered the cold dead feeling. A walking corpse, peeling away at her own flesh as she slowly became the enemy she had fought to protect her friends. Carmel and Arty. They didn't give up on her, even after she almost killed herself believing she had murdered Jess. She chewed her maw on air, remembering the dismembered cartilage from that night. She would be scarred for the rest of her eternity.

"Y-Yeah. No more than an hour after the plane crashed on the island, a zombie bit my arm and transferred the virus to me." She explained taking a more tame sip of her drink as she tried to pull back the terrible memories. "After that my skin began to peel off, my entire body was as cold as a corpse and I could barely walk without someone's help."

She took another sip of the drink in front of her and looked up the screens again.

"I thought by coming here, maybe I could put those memories in the past but it seems to have only made it worse." She said. "We thought we had found a cure and a vaccine in an abandoned hospital, which we did, but we found something else. Fleshy."

Her body visibly shook at just the thought of the abomination. Sure she had pounded the walking corpse tank's stupid face in, but it was still terrifying to know something like that ever existed.

"After we killed that thing, we found these injections. Three of them. Two of them were vaccines that would stop my transformation into the undead...the other was the exact opposite. There was no indication as to which would cure me, so we had to guess. Simply put, we guessed wrong. I turned into one of the Fleshy monsters and tried to kill a man and a little girl. Luckily, they finished me off." Amber took the last drink of her alcohol and decided that drink would be her last. "When I respawned, I was back to normal, thankfully."

The faunus slid the empty glasses toward the barkeep and continued to watch the screens with much less enthusiasm than she previously brought. Ash could tell that story had dampened her mood.
"I've been neglected, harassed, beaten, and diminished all my life. What motivates me to continue? The glory of proving people wrong. Being worth more than the numbing existence offered me. To be a hero." - Amber
