Zone E -- Highlands
The far southern end of the island's micro mountain range was Tearen's favorite terrain he had encountered so far. Large, towering limestone pillars rose and fell, blending into the sea as columns of basalt hexagons slowly crumbled from white cliffs into the churning froth. The eldritch human peered fearlessly over the lip of one such cliff, admiring the play of waning sunlight on the surf far below. Yes, the view was nice, but they had also discovered that the Syntech item drop had landed quite perilously among the branches of a stalwart tree, jutting out from the side of the cliff.

As much Strazio had been eager to retrieve the package himself, Tearen insisted on performing the free climb...least of all because he actually did possess two working hands. The rage mage did not have a readily available counterpoint to this observation, and so relented in his persistence. Thus, Tearen gingerly lowered himself over the crumbling edge, finding purchase with his feet and clasping tightly to sharp facets in the curious formations. Oh, would that he could have simply...flown himself down and snatched the package, but, as it was, his daring retrieval had garnered the attention of one, lonely little buzz-cam.

Honestly, a four-piece suit was not the proper attire for such an attempt, but at least the elder Prime had deigned to doff his polished shoes. The cold, rough rock felt weighty and real beneath his muscled toes, and a steady drip of adrenaline kept an incorrigible grin on his face. Chastising winds caused his braided hair to whip and whirl in front of his face, but that was okay. Tearen could feel everything within a dozen yards of himself, and the Syntech package certainly went out of its way to be conspicuous.

"Just...tele-grab it and come back up." Strazio yawned. There was a note of concern in his voice, but Tearen grokked that it was mostly out of a sense of urgency to return to the tumult of Zone C. Tearen breathed out a pang of disappointment through his nose as he willed the package to wriggle free from its drop chute and fly to his clutches. Just when he had been about to have some much needed fun, business still demanded his full attention.

No matter. They had what they came for.

When Tearen hoisted himself back over the grey stone face of the sea-cliff, Strazio was looking at the island's map.

"People are converging on Zone C again." he said in a calm but assertive voice. Tearen let out a soft wheeze as he bent over to put his shoes back on.

"Ah...what's Stormrage doing?"

"Milling around the Safehouse like a little bitch. I swear, if he gets culled before I get my hands on him..."

"Yeah, yeah. I know. Hopefuly Karl will see the merit of a grudge match, though. In the mean time, we should get back on the road." Tearen said, donning his backpack once more and heading back towards the looping road that had carried them here. Honestly, Tearen didn't know why more of the contestants didn't use the roads on the island. They were very easy to traverse, and it wasn't like they could hide from one another...

Quote:Tearen acquires/gives Strazio the dropped item at E12
Tearen and Strazio move to E13
And, we dream of home I dream of life out of here Their dreams are small My dreams don't know fear I got my heart full of hope I will change everything No matter what I'm told How impossible it seems We did it before And we'll do it again We're indestructible Even when we're tired And we've been here before Just you and I
Don't try to rescue me I don't need to be rescued
