Tearen had been walking almost nonstop for several hours, which wouldn't have been a problem if not for the fact that his insides still felt like they were on fire. That blast of spiritual energy from Cell had been the perfect thing to match his phased form, and though he liked to think that the damage would have been worse had he not turned incorporeal, there could be no guaratees. Fortunately, Tearen had an objective, and an objective was all an ex-enigma needed to become unstoppable.
Much of what he had learned while on the Nameless Planet had revolved around rejecting a material reality made further binding by the loathsome laws of civility. When he hadn't been learning how to bend space and time, however, many of the lessons had focused on such values as perseverance, the ability to make a decision, and the intuition to deal with unforseen occurence. Malon's abduction into the Colosseum was one such occurence, and it put Tearen back into the mind of a survivor.
More than a survivor. He was an apex predator, and all apex predators have the capacity to work as a team. The Shadow had been watching footage from inside the increasingly ruined city to the east, and had settled on a new Prime ally he could potentially work with. He had long been a fan of their outlook and persona; it would be a nice opportunity to work alongside them.
Of course, the movements of Graowr and his most recent sparring partners had not gone unnoticed. The azure girl was uncomfortably close to his position, and based on what he knew about her, she would be more than eager to fight him just for the sake of it.
As bright and cheery as she was, Tearen was not in the mood to adopt another daughter figure in this competition. No. Now it was time to show the entire Omniverse the type of power needed to survive the coming tide...
