Dust had resorted to pack tactics, ingrained in his mind by the constant use of his inner wolf and the forceful teachings of Russia. The contractor would not object to Illidian taking aggro, mostly because Dust was sure Illidan would have turned on him if he even whimpered with a protest, but also it would help their chances greatly. Next, he moved swiftly and silently while the fey creature was pelting the sharp-eared man with cones of ice. With the sounds of battle roaring on, it was easier to move unnoticed, yet Dust's serious face turned to mild panic when the tree he had climbed was uprooted completely and tossed casually at the fairy.
He almost wondered if the elf had turned on him for intruding in the fight, but he quickly pushed past the thought to take advantage of the situation. As the fairy dodged, he leapt up behind her. Dust's knee slammed into the unsuspecting ice fairy's temple, as if he teleported into the fight from nowhere just to send the little fey soaring through the air and into the ground mercilessly.
Looks were deceiving, Dust of all people could attest to this, between his powerful blessing - or curse - that the mysterious gates had bestowed on him and his other life as the emotionless contractor who still had to interact with unsuspecting humans, life was a constant juggle.
Cirno's masks were contradicting. She looked like a little girl no older than fourteen, bragged as if she were two, trembled as if she were a rabbit, and struggled between defiance and fear. Fear was quickly winning.
He felt like he could hear her mind cracking under the pressure of the challenge she was up against and imagined it resembled the sound of ice shattering against Illidan's fist.
When he had her face to face with him he could see it. Like a mouse who refused to play with the cat anymore, she had already given up. SW-808 (the code of Dust's origins) rotated around her as she laid there on the ground like a broken china doll, the demon hunter moved into position as well. Like a pair of wolves closing in on Red Riding Hood, they approached hungry, growling, and prepared to feast on the helpless girl's flesh and bone.
As the duo neared, Hokori was willing to see what was hidden up the fairy’s sleeve before she pulled it out, but Illidian was impatient, finding her weak and brittle predicament quite agitating. He could barely contain his rage at this arrogant little girl long enough to use the power of Push which sent the fairy flying across the area and into the tree with enough force to shatter her itty bitty bones. The screams of pain rippled out and into the air of the forest.
Unceremoniously, Cirno fell to the ground and laid there. Dust was not convinced she would be ruined so easily, and neither was Illidan. However, the night elf was just smug enough to go in to finish her off, he walked boldly up to the crumpled up mess. While Dust padded up behind him, his cautious senses sending signals up his spine. He couldn't be sure if it was the unrelenting force that was the man in front of him, but he was quickly struck with the impulse to dodge!
"WATCH IT!!" Dust grabbed the imposing elf by the shoulders and shoved him away, just in time to be sprayed with icy shrapnel along his left side. The lycan held his arms up to protect his face, but felt the shards rip through his flesh as the familiar feeling of cold radiated through his body all the same.
It was hard to tell if the wolf left a lasting impression on the eyeless elf, but Hokori would have attempted to save him no matter how little the threat had seemed. When the explosion of ice was over, Dust's skin was full of shallow wounds, he brushed the ice off leaving bloody smears across his bronzed skin.
"And you called me cocky," he doggishly taunted his teammate, grinning smugly for the first time in his life. Then he set his sights on the fairy. "She's weak, let’s just finish her." He charged.
Even when she kept her icy eyes on them, she blinked as Dust vanished in a burst of speed. Blades of grass left behind in his wake and fell back to the earth when he had appeared again. He'd gone left when she thought he had launched forward, dashing toward her side as his claws snagged her flesh. Again and again, she felt them cut deep across her flank and back. While she was distracted by Wolf, Illidian stepped forth, unwilling to let the human show him up.
