The night was long yet peaceful. As a wanted man Bruce learned to enjoy these moments of tranquility. Even in a strange place like this with a man he barely knows. The nostalgic feeling hit him once again. For the first time In this place the fearless vigilante felt calm. The harmonious sounds of the water kissing the sands of the shore, water splashing up against the rock upon which they were resting. One might almost forget the death and destruction going on around them.
None other than Enel was the first to break this moment of self-reflection. "Say Bats?"
"Hmm?"
"What was your world like before this?" It was the first time Enel was actually interested in anything other than his suspicion of his presumable bat-powers or his own divinity. Maybe he wasn't as self centered as Bruce initially thought.
The dark knight started to share his tale, "For the last five years, my world was under the rule of a tyrant. This ma-…"
"Shut up. Look!" The one time Bruce actually spoke got immediately interrupted. He looked up towards where Enel was pointing. A crate with a parachute was dropping from the sky. Finally the item they were waiting for had arrived. The object landed several meters from them, floating on the water. Batman turned his head towards Enel, who was giving him a certain look.
"Fine." The dark knight grunted. Going back into the cold water he forced his way to their prize. With the blades located upon his gauntlets Batman pried the crate upon and looked inside of it. He grabbed the item and made his way back to the God before handing it to him.
"Here, you know what it is?"
Enel examined it closely, "Hmm, Hmm, Yes. This will do nicely. Well done Batman!" The vigilante didn't look to pleased with the condescending tone, but then again, he was dealing with a mentally unstable person. Sometimes, you have to let these things slide for the greater good. From the corner of his field of vision, Batman noticed the raft they used to bring the water fearing god out here, drift away further and further. It was already out of reach to swim there, who knows what kind of traitorous current was hiding underneath that surface. His grappling gun would only damage the boat. He nudged his head towards the raft, notifying Enel of the misfortune.
"You got to be fucking kidding me?! Why weren't you paying attention?! How am I going to go back to the coast. I told you I can't swim you Id-…" The god's rant stopped as his head returned slowly towards facing batman. From dumb grin upon his face Batman knew enough, "You got to be kidding me."
A few moments later, the dark knight was pushing himself through the water, slowly gaining ground to return to the coast. On his shoulders, a barefooted god was squatting down, holding on the cowl's ears for dear life. Suddenly the Thundergod's balance was unparalleled with even Robin. Never before had the masked warrior felt so humiliated, "Not a word, to anyone." He spoke with a rough displeased tone, as they finally reached dry land.
