Fed finally, with some leftovers to shove in their packs for the trip, Dust kicked the muk into the fire before they left. His ears did not twitch so much as the sensation of them doing so happened when she talked about their next objective. He finished shoving some stray berries into the many pockets of his borrowed bag and then pulls out the tablet. He left it on the map because that was the primary thing he would ever want to see. There were messages aplenty from the OmniTwitter, whatever that was, and several other apps begging to be used. But he didn't really care about such things. While he didn't know what the Twitter was exactly, just glancing at it looked like half-assed messages to feed the ego of the ones posting it onto the endless threads. He only glanced to figure out what it was and quickly decided a social media site wasn't something to play around with while you were on Death Island. He had seen the camera but wasn't sure why he'd take pictures other than to remember the good times they experienced here.
He found nothing about any drops that way. Well, nothing that was unlikely to have already been grabbed. The whole place was littered with dots by now telling him where the items had been, but if this information was available to half the people on the island - which it was available to all the contestants not just half - then everything was most likely already gone. He decided not to question it and pushed the device back into his bag and slinging it over his shoulder again. This time both shoulders. Now that he knew he wouldn't be ripping it off him, he could carry it normally. "I didn't get to see all of it, just the highlight reel. You were great." He commented, adding a bit more emphasis on the end of it as well as a smile. But her words landed a bit harder after he replied to it. Was that why she wasn't willing to kick him out of the pack, yet? He didn't mind being an asset to him and Takezo. That's why they made this pact, right? Because everyone in the party was useful. He wasn't sure what his place was, but he imagined the simple version was: 'Meat Shield.'
"Takezo noticed the squid girl was missing a member of her team, and so we attacked." He stopped, realizing they hadn't really told her what had happened. She was extremely sharp though, she was bound to have already figured it out, but since they had time to talk. "Takezo is extremely skilled in the blade, I would call him a samurai, but I believe that's not the correct term. I realized he had to be proficient in the art, it just didn't occur to me how powerful he was until I fought beside him." He paused to relive the victory, a solid grin swept across his lips and his lids lulled just a bit. "It was exihlerating, honestly. I've been missing an awful lot of life without emotions.." He let that hang in the air, as he tried not to think about what else he'd missed in nearly a decade. He'd forgotten a lot of what it felt like, but not the words to what he was trying to explain. "I'm a little glad I stumbled onto that poster now, I've enjoyed all of this so far." He said, having no delusion about this place. He would either be on top, or left in a broken heep. But he was starting to really enjoy the idea of winning this thing.
They proceeded out of the dense forest and into something lighter. He could see the mountains in the distance and wondered how far they would go.
