The tunnel shortcuts were hit-and-miss, it seems. Going in one, and coming out the other end, they found themselves sometimes having bypassed tricky patches of rock and long meandering paths, but just as often they'll find themselves stuck in positions more precarious than before.
Twice, his bad eye had almost meant his death. The first time he tripped he had nearly been sent careening down the side into a sharp patch, only for Abyss to take hold of his waist with a tentacle and drag him back up enough for Chakravartin to get a handhold and haul himself up. He was consistently shocked at the squid's strength. At first, he had written her off as someone meant for long-range only, her water projectiles and size seemed to fit it, but she was both faster and stronger than him, to his surprise.
"Abyss, tell me, how long have you been in the Omniverse?"
"Not too long. One of the very first things I did was sign up for DA." she said, frowning, "I appeared at the fountain, met a rabbit, and went into Coruscant. The first thing to grab my eye was the sign-in station for Dante's Abyss." she huffed, "I didn't even get the chance to see Coruscant. I figured that it would be a couple of hours at most, but now..." she looked down at her own scarred body, letting out a sigh of regret.
"We'll get even." Chakravartin said simply, "Besides, you're a Prime. None of those will last if you don't want it to." Chakravartin grinned, reaching up to his face, where his own injuries had at the very least returned to his regular head-shape. The thin layer of specialized skin cells had been blown away by the girl's super-punch, as well as the specialized eye. The entire upper left quarter of his face appeared to be the same as his hands- made out of shining gold.
