After she had some time to calm down, she tapped around her phone looking for more help. She had to find the mayor, she knew she had to. But declaring a goal wasn’t the same of accomplishing it.
It was after a stunt on twitter why she posted an embarrassing photo that she would get her inspiration. She noticed the attention she got from it and while most of the notices she received in response were… disparaging, she couldn’t help but see the long line of retweets to followed in it’s wake. Every single one of those were going under the eyes of new people with each reposting. More and more, her mayor could be one of those pair of eyes.
She knew what she had to do.
She marched from her couch and looked around the building for Rovin. She eventually found him in front of a desk down one of the hallways. His desk covered in photographs of many different beings. Halfway through typing a paragraph, he finally since the dog’s presence in the doorway. He turned and gave her a smile
“Ah! You’re awake, good morning!” He said as he clicked around a few menus with his free hand. “My apologies, I was doing some paperwork, how can I help you?”
She walked into his room, Rovin’s eyes following her the entire time, and she took a seat across from him. She wiggled around a bit to get comfortable before she turned her attention to her companion.
“I want to get well known.” She said, stating it with purpose. “I can’t remember the mayor, but maybe he remembers me. I need to be everywhere, If people are talking about me all over the place, then he can’t even miss me from the darkest reaches of the Omniverse. Maybe he’ll be the one to find me!”
“Quite an ambitious goal!” He said, almost mockingly. “Well, I do not doubt you have what it takes, but you’ll be under much more scrutiny, you’ll have people pawing at you everywhere. You sure you could handle that?”
She hadn’t considered that. She wasn’t the most social person in the world, having fans walk up to her, inflicting their expectations on her, she wasn’t sure if she could handle that. And that’s not considering the real perverts. She already got really dirty tweets just a few minutes ago, the concept of encountering that in real life; shivers to the bone.
But, it was the mayor. If she was doing it for him, it’d be okay.
“Yes, I’ll do anything to be reunited with the mayor.”
Rovin rose a brow at her before turning to tap away at his computer again.
“Well, you’re the boss.”
Suddenly, a projector that Isabelle failed to notice in the back of the room flickered on and covered the wall behind Rovin with his screen. It displayed a long list of showbiz jobs found all over Coruscant.
“Not sure how good you are acting or singing.”
“I had a band back home.” She stated, a little bit of her ego shining through the discomfort.
“Well, that definitely helps! So we can try some acting gigs, modelling might be good for you. Your non-human nature might impede your career though. Would have so many more options if we were in Ambrosia.”
He scratched his chin trying to think, but she broke the silence before he could discover his words.
“F Zero racing?” She asked.
Rovin looked up at the screen and spotted the entry titled “Newbie drivers wanted for F Zero Racing in Coruscant. No experience required.”
“You wouldn’t want to do that. Have you ever even driven in a race before?”
“Yes, we did a lot of kart racing back home.”
“This is not quite the same Isabelle, we’re talking 250 mph or more.”
She had to admit, she had never gone that fast before, though she wasn’t foreign to the concept of high speed racing.
“Well, I have gone like 100 mph on my scooter in a race before. And I’m guessing the tracks in F Zero actually elevated to the turns while ours rarely ever did so maybe it’s just easier.”
“Wait, you went 100 mph on a scooter?”
“Then again not sure what kind of weapons F Zero races have. Might be hard to dodge fire on a normal track.”
“You were racing 100 mph on a scooter while weapons were being fired at you?!? Did you at least wear a helmet?”
“What? That would have messed up my hair something fierce!”
