That odd glass slate of his beeped and lit up. Even as they ran, he slung the backpack off his shoulders to extract the tablet. The note on the screen earned a chuckle from the swordsman. Slipping the tablet back into his back, he renewed his efforts, putting more oomph into every step.
He wanted to procure a spot at the nearest drop point to the Golden Alliance. Maybe they will come for it, challenge them, or at the very least one of his own teammates will have an item advantage. “We are making a detour… This magic stone says there will be a relic dropped near our dear friends. We should pick it up before we pay them a visit, maybe even meet them there.”
The age old game of cat and mouse, it was not even truly trickery. It was life. They all knew the item was going to be there, even with his technological density he could read the beeping glass slate. In fact it was made more fun having near strangers whom he did not feel would stab him in the back – at least not outside of a sanctioned duel.

I shall take point, to lure our prey in – as you suggested.” He clearly did not mind or perhaps even enjoyed the idea of being the bait in the trap. It just meant he could be close and personal when it springs upon his foes.
The scenery became less walls and ground of stone and more woodlands. The warm, humid air gave him a sense of normality. He was so accustomed to this world, he could not help but take an extra deep breath through his nose to take it all in. “I hope we fight them in the forest!”
