While the other… Guests of the bunker remained quiet and unforthcoming, Illidan chose to lurk in the shadows, silently brooding as he churned about the battle tactics in his mind that would lead him to success. The dark elf had no intention of staying here for long, though, he had yet realized how to play this game to win. He heard Gildarts’ thumbs pecking at the screen of the little device from their knapsack. Illidan had no need for such mundane Gnome’s toys, he had his own power and it was much more reliable than a piece of metal that was too easily smashed.
But Gildarts was using the tool, or y’know, trying to. Like a wheedler of wood, he slowly trimmed down the “need to knows” and gathered some information on their next objective. Gildarts stood up and showed the map to Illidan, saying “This map shows us not only where we are, but what we can expect from the other zones. We’re in the city here, and there’s items we must obtain that drop every few hours.”
“What? That little device has an entire map on it?” the elf was curious, perhaps he’d mistaken piece of scrap metal for a useful tool in this mission. He snatched it from Gildarts’ hands and they spoke very briefly on their plans to come. Illidan was not here to fail, no, that wouldn’t do.
Told...Ya. The Malefactor sneered from the silence of his mind. Then she delved right back under the veil of his conscience.
Gildarts paused and waited. It was hard to say how much time had passed in the vault oh-so-sealed off from the outside world. It didn’t seem like there was much light in the room, but there was a lot of sound reverberation off of the walls. The mage keenly looked at his ally’s large ears, guessing that they allowed him to have very keen senses. He could likely hear Gildarts’ own heartbeat, if the elf put his mind to it.
Speaking of his mind, it was hard to think how long it would remain stable. In times of adversity, threat, it was more likely to stay keen, or so it had shown throughout the past few experiences with his encounters with Illidan, the squid, and Tearen, though something in Nealaphh the god-mind had elicited the Malefactor to be forthcoming, and Gildarts wondered to himself just how he would pay for that.
His somewhat pensive thoughts didn’t last long though, soon enough Illidan gestured his fellow prime to rise, “Stand up, we’re going out there. I can’t stay cramped up in here while other people make advances at our prize. Sitting in here is driving me mad.”
Gildarts nodded, he agreed. Maybe the fog had even dissipated, if not, that wasn't so bad either, however the mage would have to prepare his magic for the worst of it. Illidan and Gildarts exchanged another one of those "friendly glances" and it was Illidan this time who got the door, chiming along to Karl's slightly annoying though very informative pre-recorded message, they ventured outside, there were fragments of the fog, but it wasn't quite as potent as it had been when they had entered the safe house.
That was a relief, maybe the looming creatures of the fog were nor more, of course, whenever you assumed the best, sometimes the worst slammed you in the stomach. Wait for it... Wait for it....
WHAM! A huge, Gildarts-sized fist emerged from the belly of the stirring shades of white-gray fog, grasping the entire Prime in its fist and pulling him away from their beloved safe house faster than they'd even leapt out of there. Not bothering to close the door behind him, Illidan leapt to his ally's aid, pondering what magic he could use to free the human that would hurt the least.
Illidan's words grated in his throat as he fell to a low stance and warned, "Brace yourself, human."
