Zone C -- Megacity One
#19
As they went on for a while, Graowr eventually started to get fidgety. The pace, brisk as it was, was too slow for her. Especially given the current predicament. The fog was blanketing everything, swirling and shifting and cutting off view beyond a relatively short distance. Her scouter was useless, the ki-scanning technology not working, and she hadn't gotten the hang of sensing it for herself yet again, either. So this fog was a pain to deal with. "Man...this sucks..."

"Oh, it sucks alright, but at least it's not still rainin', eh?" the mechanic offered.

"Well...yeah, I guess." He had a point. If it had been raining on top of everything else it wouldn't have just been awful. It would have been miserable. She brought both hands up to grab her scarf and wring it out, the soaked in rainwater dripping down in a miniature deluge for all of a second or two. "Man..." Immediately after, both hands went to her collar, poking at it before grumbling and tugging the scarf back up over it. "This stupid collar makes getting my scarf on right hard..." she whined.

"It's a right pain, alright, ya can say that again," the working-man agreed.

"Well...I'm gonna go see if I can't get a good look around! Maybe from somewhere higher up!" And she darted off, picking up the pace and hurrying ahead into the fog. The first building she reached, she leaped for it. High as she could, and even then she barely made it to the roof. She landed with a stumble, looking around. Still only fog. "Man...this really sucks..." And then something occurred to her. With all the running to get here, and the jump and stumble...and the fog...she wasn't sure which exact direction she'd come from. And she was pretty sure her new friend had kept moving.

"....aaaaaw, man." She kicked at the roof in agitation, cursing her own lack of foresight. Briefly, she squatted down, pulling off her backpack and fishing the tablet out again. Tapping at it and fishing through it she brought the map up again, studying it more carefully. "There should be a safehouse...up this way?" She turned, facing toward what she hoped was the northwest. "Maybe...I can go hang around there for a while. See if this fog doesn't lift..."

That was a thought. And it seemed like a good one. So she took it. And she hopped forward into a run, reaching the edge of the building and leaping forward, to the next one.
