Zone B -- Forest
#15
Tearen slowed his pace after about half an hour, growing more comfortable with the fact that this Syntech event seemed to be sticking true to its word that it would be less violent. If that was the case, pursuing the hallowed items was of even more paramount importance. No Syntech camera was going to follow his progress if there was not a spectacle. Again, though, meeting up with Malon would set the foundation for more bold action in the days to come. The ex-enigma hoped they could make another ally of someone by the end of the day.

Token mental banter aside, it appeared as though several Primes were converging on the safehouse in Zone B, a fact which made the hair on his neck prickle. It felt somewhat schizophrenic, knowing he had the power to tackle any challenge in the Omniverse, yet still being subject to the cloying physical signs of fear. This sensation of looming dread was alleviated somewhat when the elder Prime emerged from the tree line into a vast swath of cleared rainforest. The ground was pink and brown, covered with filthy hardwood splinters, and ragged stumps stretched into the visible distance. Seeing someone coming would be much easier in this deforested subzone, but that didn't guarantee his safety.

What it did guarantee, however, was slow progress. Picking his way across fallen trees and tangles of emaciated canopy foliage somehow took longer than navigating the living brush. It did give Tearen time to gather more details from his surroundings, a pursuit which revealed a surfeit of freshly abandoned logging equipment. The elder Prime paused to heft a discarded chainsaw; there was still fuel inside. Assorted forestry vehicles dotted the ravaged landscape as well. If nothing else, it was a haunting aesthetic choice on Karl's part, but the ex-enigma couldn't help but wonder if there was something more to the ghostly dereliction...

Quote:Moving from B13 to B15
And, we dream of home I dream of life out of here Their dreams are small My dreams don't know fear I got my heart full of hope I will change everything No matter what I'm told How impossible it seems We did it before And we'll do it again We're indestructible Even when we're tired And we've been here before Just you and I
Don't try to rescue me I don't need to be rescued
