Perhaps Alex trolled Deadpool with the ultimate pun--Wade having to wade to shore. The thought made him chuckle. Not many narrators had the ability to land those sort of jabs.

He would have to wade at least a few hundred meters; the closest chunk of tall grass looked like row of Hawaiian dancers in the rolling humidity. He splashed towards it.
