As the teleporter induced nausea wore off, Odin checked out his surroundings. It was some kind of metal hut. The doorway was open and the window had no covering, but it served to provide some cover while he got his bearings. Odin opened the bag he was provided and made a mental note of what was inside: Food, flint, water, some kind of poorly made metal stick. Then he checked the “Syntech Tablet” and discovered that an item drop should be nearby.
Moving out of the safety of cover and into the street, he noticed the sound of someone running away. The blue man turned a corner a few blocks down and disappeared just as Odin noticed that the pedestal in the middle of the intersection was empty. “Damnit,” he muttered, realizing he had been too slow. Chances are that the other items were all gone too.
“I’ll get to the safe house to reset the timer and get to the next drop early,” he planned aloud. Chances were that others were thinking the same thing.
