The elder Prime blinked slowly as the radiation from the teleportation faded. His senses immediately told him he was in the midde of a suffocatingly damp rainforest, but other than that, he had little bearing on his situation. After noticing his supply bag and taking stock of his available faculties, he felt more comfortable. How courteous that they had been given a map with tracking systems; finding his position was then trivial.
Regardless of his current location, Tearen had one current goal; locate Malon as soon as possible. The ex-enigma closed his eyes and took in a deep breath as he expanded his mind outwards, searching for the unique mental patterns of the young Prime girl. The Shadow felt his way past the buzzing thoughts of dozens of other contestants before finding her screaming psychic signature. She was already panicking, and his fatherly instincts spurred his legs into a furious sprint before leaping into the air...
...and coming down a few yards later. Tearen had been in such a hurry that he had forgotten that certain powers such as his flight were going to be suppressed by the collar clamped around his neck. He felt the urge to tug at it resentfully, but let out a curt sigh. No. There was no reason to be resentful of the device. This was what he had signed up for. This was what he wanted. Steeling himself, the elder Prime broke into a more reserved jog, trying to sight the most efficient path to Malon as possible. He would have to be wary, for a hundred reasons, but with power comes confidence, and he had power in spades.
It occurred to him that his brain still had a Dataverse connection, so as he dashed past rain-blackened trees and tangling ferns, he dialed up Malon's communicator. There was no need to speak aloud; his mind could transmit his words directly to her receiver.
Malon, I think I have a fix on your location, but can you describe where you are?
It took a few worrying moments, but Malon's voice came back to him a moment later.
"Um. Yeah. There are buildings. Really huge buildings, I can't even see the horizon or anything!"
The elder Prime glanced down at the map for a moment as it floated alongside him.
Alright, can you find your way due North? I should be able to meet you half way.
"I can try, I...I can't really see the sun, and the buildings..."
Did you figure out how to use the tablet?
"The what?"
Tearen puffed slightly as he hurdled over a fallen log, splashing into a thick puddle of mud. His suit was already sweaty and ruined, but he couldn't bother with such things right now, and he should have changed before the event started. With measured words, the ex-enigma tried to walk the medieval girl through using the high-tech interface. Eventually she got it to work
"Got it! Uhmm, C17, that's me sooo...okay! Okay I think I can start moving."
Atta girl. Stay in touch.
With this, Tearen severed the connection and allowed his mind to expand back into the muggy environment. The tree obfuscated almost all visuals; he would need to keep his other senses on a hair trigger.

And, we dream of home I dream of life out of here Their dreams are small My dreams don't know fear I got my heart full of hope I will change everything No matter what I'm told How impossible it seems We did it before And we'll do it again We're indestructible Even when we're tired And we've been here before Just you and I
Don't try to rescue me I don't need to be rescued
Don't try to rescue me I don't need to be rescued
