After some grand announcements and music, someone finally calls to tell me the game is starting.
About fucking time.
They fit me with a collar – which I’m still not happy about. I mean, it’s bad enough that Omni restricts my power, now they’ve got to do it again? I suppose they have to give the weaklings some chance.
Then they send me, and the rest of these jokers, to metal pods. One moment I’m standing out in the cool air, surrounded by cheering crowds –
The next I’m in a god-damned rainforest!
The humidity hits me and I spark a little. “Kss …” I shake my hand free. That might be a problem. Good thing I waterproofed my Dataverse Device.
I check out my map. Looks like I’m right next to a pickup! Might as well get going, then!
