Retane — father of Maleficus, mercenary and assassin — the one person who's recognition her master had sought his entire life. The sheer mention of the name caused the servant to tense up in response. Her gentle hands gripped the phone firmly, though her lips remained mum on the matter.
But even before she was able to regain her composure, the fateful offer was made. 'B-but I..' she began to object, but the argument died in her throat. Part of her knew that this outcome was inevitable. She was alone in an unfamiliar world, surrounded by beings and phenomena she had no knowledge of or experience with. It was already nothing short of a miracle that she managed to encounter someone that could assist her. There wasn't a choice to be made — the circumstances had already decided for her.
Hanging her head in resignation, Tamsin fell into silence herself. Pondering why destiny seemed fit to torment her so, she uttered solemnly: '...Very well, Mr. Jak. We have an agreement...I shall visit you after the event concludes.' Without another word, the maid handed the communication device back to the attendant without looking at her. The female employee merely stared at the dark and brooding expression on her face curiously before putting the phone away.
