Nyeseth frowned out of confusion as he watched the branches form what looked like ‘the bird’ in his face.
‘How the hell does a tree know what that sign is?’ Nyeseth thought to himself as he turned around just in time to see Desco throw what looked like a red flame into the fire. As she did this, the fire was taken over, the red flame consumed the lighter flame right before his eyes.
‘Desco, what was that?’ Nyeseth asked as he pulled a sizable log over towards the fire, placing it roughly a meter away, so they could sit on it.
‘Desco summoned hell fire, from Desco’s home world. It’ll burn for months.’ Desco explained in her odd third person composure. It was strange to Nyeseth, he had though it was just a kid thing, but soon had come to realise that Desco really talked in third person. It was cute though, in a child-like sort of way.
‘Nyeseth.’ Guu’s cold voice echoed out as Nyeseth felt something sit down next to him. He turned to look at Guu as she looked up at him, he was getting used to her now, but her eyes still freaked him out a little, and the way her mouth seemed normal, even without teeth, made him feel as if something was wrong with his eyes.
‘Yes?’ Nyeseth replied quickly and sharply as he turned his attention to the marshmallows that Desco had summoned earlier.
‘What world did you come from?’ Guu asked as she watched him turn to look at the fire, realizing that her question had sent him searching through his memories. Nyeseth sat there quiet and staring into the flames for a good 30 seconds before replying to her question.
‘I called it the Soul Society, humans would call it Heaven, but really, it wasn't anything special like that. In my world, souls constantly travel between three separate worlds. When you die, you become a soul, some souls in my world are new, and some are eternal, like myself. Souls with potential, with abilities become Soul Reapers. Other Souls, that can’t pass from the Human world to my world become corrupted and turn into Hollows, which Live in Heuco Mundo.’ Nyeseth explained as he looked up at the dense canopy above them.
‘Of course, not all Hollows are created like this, some are just bad spirits, people who kill for fun. These hollows feed off of other souls, and it is… Was, my job to regulate the souls of the human world, pass on the trapped souls and cleanse the hollow souls, allowing them to pass on to the Soul society and eventually be reborn.’ Nyeseth continued explaining as Guu slapped him. Nyeseth flinched as he looked to Guu, a bored frown on her face. Nyeseth looked towards Desco, she was listening intently, but pretending not to.
‘That’s not what I wanted to know.’ Guu said as she held her finger-less, worm-like hand to his face, as if to suggest violence.
‘Right… My world was full of traditional old style Japanese houses, large and small. Some were small housing, for the regular souls and the large ones were reserved for the 13 court guard squads. Each squad had its own housing and Dojo.’ Nyeseth explained as he looked back to the fire. The red colouring of the flame intrigued him.
‘What were your worlds like?’ Nyeseth asked as he leaned back a little and tried to relax, the search for the little girl still on his mind as he talked.
