Gildarts’ felt a dagger hit his heart. His shoulders were leadened. “Well, the thing is, Natsu is just another member of the guild, but I love him like a son. And also, when I last saw him he was in danger. Omni kind of stole me away before I could do much about it. Same with the others. I don’t talk about my… Previous family, the one I am related to by blood.”
He didn’t specify his reasons, and Guu nodded, “I’m sure Natsu is fine, if you say he’s a wizard like you, he must be strong enough to defeat his enemies.”
Gildarts found himself tinkering with his silver arm. His mind dismally thought that it wasn’t the kind of enemy to be so simply defeated, however he still held hope strongly in his voice, “You’re right, if anyone could beat it, he could.”
“It?” she echoed curiously.
“Acnologia. The dragon that took my arm and leg.” Gildarts explained as he procured his arm to be examined. The silver steel always looked as though it were polished, though it never was, it was simply the magic radiating through it.
“Steel is much cooler anyway,” Guu said in the way that she did. It made Gildarts smile.
“Thanks, well, for a father figure, the leader of Fairy Tail is a mage named Macarov. He can make himself the size of a dragon, or bigger. He’s a cool guy and understands a lot. I think he’s also got some big important title, but I can’t really remember what. Go figure,” he smiled and his hand met the back of his head with some embarrassment.
“Hmm, so you have a son and a father, that’s a great family!” Guu nodded, taking him rather literally.
“Oh, and there’s also Mira-jane, she’s grown so much since I last saw her! Oh yikes, but don’t get on her bad side, she’s also an S-class wizard like me,” in his mind he procured a picture of the sweet little girl, to the sweet woman she’d become. Then, the image was dark and horns came out of her head, as though she were a demon from the depths of Hell. Strangely, she was still beautiful in her demon transformation, and she even looked a little like Guu based on her pale hair color.
