(Preshow) Registration (Where you Sign up IC)
#17
Her aimless wandering about Tier 1 in search of the signup station didn't take her terribly long, despite being more or less at random. Asking people for directions or if they'd seen anything that could help her was starting to become more or less second nature by this point. If it wasn't on her maps or somewhere she'd been to before, she was pretty much lost for trying to find it. But in this instance, it was a pretty common thing, it seemed, and not all that hard to track down, with some proper directions and points in the right way to head. And she found it without much trouble, thanks to all that.

Wandering on up, she stopped by the sign-up station and looked it over curiously. Almost immediately, she was greeted by someone behind the desk quite literally popping up out of nowhere. "Hello! Here to sign up for Dante's Abyss, are you?"

"Uh..." Graowr just blinked once. Then again. Staring up at the man that had just popped up from behind the desk. "Yeah, I guess so!" she finally agreed.

"Ah, excellent! Just a moment, we've got a bit of a form for you to fill out. Just a technicality." He leaned down, retrieving something from under the desk. "Most of this is just a formality, but there's a few things we could use to get everything...properly sorted out for you. So just fill this out, like I said, and you'll be good to go!"

A clipboard, with some forms on it and a pen, was slid across the desk toward her. She looked at it, not really having to look down all that much owing to her rather...insubstantial height. For a good few moments, she just stared at it, then slooooowly lifted her eyes to look back up at the man behind the desk.

For nearly a full, uncomfortable minute there was nothing but silence between them. Only the noise of the city in the background provided any noise. Slowly, a faint sheen of sweat started to break out on the Syntech employee's forehead and his operative expression faltered. "U-Uh, is...is there a problem, ma'an?"

"I dunno how to write."

The man stumbled in place, his balance deserting him and nearly winding up face first on the desk. "W-Well, that...that's not a problem! Aha!" His tone was nervous, but he was hiding it well. "I'll be glad to assist you!" He took the clipboard back, and pulled up a chair to sit at the desk and make the writing easier. "N-Now then, just...just a few questions!"

Graowr just nodded, with a sudden smile. "Okay!"

"A-Aha, yes...very well, first question, then! What is your name?"

"Graowr."

She only got a blank look in response, and after several seconds a tentative "E-Er, how...do you spell that?" When the only response was a shrug, he just scribbled something down. Hopefully it would suffice. "Right. Next question, then... Hoo long have you been in the Omniverse?"

The little blue majin paused, her head tilting slightly. Gloved hands came up, fingers rising one by one as she slowly counted in her head. "Oh...a few weeks, I think? Time works weird, it's had to keep track."

"Right, right...yes, of course." More scribbling. "Next question, then: Where do you live in the Omniverse?"

"I have a place to stay down on Tier 4, right here in Coruscant!" she said brightly. "It's a pretty nice place. I do wish it was daytime more often, though...always seems to be night down there..."

The man just laughed. Oh, wow...someone this clueless, living down on Tier 4? She wouldn't last long. "Right, yes." He noted down that answer. "What is your current job?"

"Current job?" She just blinked in confusion, remaining silent for a good while. "....oh! oh, right! I work with the EPD!" she finally said when it dawned on her. "They got me my apartment down on Tier 4 and everything. They're kind of a weird bunch, but they're pretty nice, long as you can complete the assignments they give you! Plus I got to blow up a giant laser!" She clapped a hand over her mouth. "I don't think I was supposed to say that..."

Now it was the Syntech employee's turn to just...stare, in blank, stark disbelief. This...this thing was an EPD officer? She looked like barely more than a child, and she was...so, so, so stupid... He just shook his head. Good grief, they were really accepting anyone these days, weren't they? He just noted down her initial answer. "Right. Next, then: What was your life like back in your own world?"

"Oh, that's a long story!" she said brightly. "I was a Time Patroller! I helped keep the timeline in balance, stop people from changing history and causing all sorts of problems! Got to fight a lot of strong people, and had a lot of un! Got to see legends and history happen right in front of my eyes, and I even got to beat up and destroy someone who I'm pretty sure was trying to become a god. He was really strong!" She smacked one fist into an open palm, grinning. "But I managed to take him down!"

The pen slipped from the man's hand, just staring in wide-eyed wonder. Was...was she serious, or was she just making a joke out of this? It sounded like the kind of story a child with an over-active imagination would make up. But, well...it also really wasn't his problem. "Right, so...I'll just..." he picked his pen up again. "...not that down as 'time-travelling fighter', then..." And he did just that. "Right, last question: Why are you joining Dante’s Abyss?"

Both hands clenched into fists, and one raised up, hovering before her face. "Because it seems like a lot of fun! People come from all over the Omniverse, and they're all probably pretty strong! I wanna see how much work I still gotta do to get back to real fighting shape!"

The man just nodded slowly, looking down at the clipboard again and scribbling the gist of that answer down. "Right, then. That's everything." He slid the clipboard across again to Graowr. "Last thing. Just need you to sign here." He tapped at a line on the top-most form. "Doesn't need to be anything legible or much of anything. Just that you were here and filled this out in person. Well...more or less. Paperwork and formalities, you understand."

"Oh, okay!" And she took the offered pen, and scribbled something...that looked vaguely like a big, capital 'G' with some scribbled lines that...might generously have called the rest of her name. "There!" She handed it back, and the man just sighed, shaking his head.

"Right...if you'll just head over this way and step onto this teleporter here..." And he gestured at a large, blue pad behind the station. "...it'll take you to Syntech Station 17, where everyone else who's signed up already is waiting for the event to officially start."

"Alright!" That was all she needed to hear. In a blur of blue and black, she was gone, past the employee and bounding up to the teleporter. And in a flash, she was gone.
