Samus grit her teeth as Madotsuki disappeared through the portal. Chasing might be a bad idea. Was it a worse idea than letting Centaur Man rest and recuperate? They had no idea what was on the other side of the portal … but she was a Hunter, and it was her contract, her duty, to finish the job.

Samus turned to Okor and Hiro. “We can’t split the team,” she said. “We go now, while he’s still recovering. We finish the job.”

Samus charged a shot before darting after Madotsuki.
