Dr. Linda Himes is pretending to sleep on a workbench in Chirpa's garage, listening to the battle-plan for a raid on a warehouse in a Teir-7.
Polywhirl seems to be the organizer. The tough-talking pokemon is professional but anxious as he points out various points on a map to his co-conspirators.
"Here," he says, pointing at a spot with a fat cartoon figure. Sunshine and Bloodstain study the map carefully. "Is our entry point. We have eight seconds to make it to the west stairwell before they regain control of their cameras." The elves nod in unison.
Polywhirl traces a line with a black marker. "This is where the second camera system activates. That means as soon as anyone crosses that line, any chance at stealth is gone. That's why we're bringing them," the pokemon explains, gesturing towards Chirp.
Alone, Chirpa the Ewok mechanic is not intimidating. The ramshackle gang of homemade droids looming behind him adds a sense of gravitas to the tiny alien however. From the remains of the Doombot and stolen Imperial tech, Chirpa and his brothers have crafted four combat-ready robots.
Two of the droids are fashioned from B-1 battle-droids. Chirpa used the hydraulics of the Doombot and upgraded the weak, clumsy limbs of the B-1, making them capable melee combatants, as well as using the Doombot plasma cannon to fashion blasters for them.
Another is the Droideka, or Destroyer Droid. The rolling, transforming droid was given a weapons and nervous system upgrade, making the normally slow, clunky droid suitable for urban combat.
The final bot is entirely made from scratch. It has a vaguely humanoid appearance, but with four arms, four legs, and an elongated midsection, and the entire contraption appears covered in black wire. Where a face would be is only a single red camera lens on a tentacle. In it's chest, a faint blue glow can be seen.
"I do not like dat one," says Bloodstain pointedly at the multi-limbed bot. The blood elf frowns while the gross contraption twitches. "Is too big."
The bot folds its body in on itself helpfully. Sunshine shudders.
"His name is Daryl," Chirpa adds.
As Linda drifts into real sleep, Polywhirl pushes on with the plan.
