Compared to the bitter cold of his familiar territory, the salt filled air, the blazing hot sun, and the music filled streets of Costa del Sol were both extremely different and especially inviting. This man in particular has spent all of his time here, on day one he traveled here from Nexus, and has enjoyed his time in the sun and on his own. He's been getting along with the locals, helping them as he went, and just enjoying the beach completely when he was doing nothing that would amount to any reward. Apparently he liked to swim, swimming and other sports you could play on the beach, entering casual games and minor competitions with people who knew of him from reputation. But as fun as living it up in this sun drenched world, he knew it was not a vacation. It has never been a vacation. More importantly, he needed to get back to reality.
He didn't mind at all that he was not back in his own universe, where he was just a pawn for the power players to direct, where he was lead around like the dog they believed him to be; Where he had nothing, and more so had no ability to feel apathy or any regret for not having ambitions and goals other than staying alive; No point in living.. But to be alive. That was no life for him. However, it did still disturbed him to be thinking about such things. He hasn't changed much at all in his endless lounging about.
And so, here he was. Staring up at a poster that hasn't been there any of the other times he'd passed by. Advertising something kind of like a contest, from just looking at it he gathered it was a competition of some kind. As the water from his swim rolled down his new tan, and dripped from his locks, forming a puddle that is quickly sucked up by the sand's unquenchable thirst, Dust decided it was high time he got back into the swing of things. At the very least.. He needed to know if he could still even use his powers - and at what cost..
Following the signs and the excited chatter of what they could possibly expect this year, Dust found his way to the local registration center for Dante's Abyss. It sounded all kinds of exciting and intriguing, but he still did not understand what it was. His intentions were to ask his own questions and then calculate the risks and rewards of the situation before deciding to join, despite his intentions however he was not the one asking the questions.
A fast talking man with a lot of energy caught sight of him, apparently taking in the casual and yet fighting fit form as a sign that he immediately wanted to join. "YOU THERE!!" Stunned, Dust pointed to himself, but the man was already waving him over. "Of course you! You look like a man who could fight with the best, as well as any twist the games decide to throw at you! You're brimming with power, I can see it! You!! You are a Prime, I can tell!!"
'Prime.'
The word echoed through Dust like a lost memory coming back to him. That's right, he's not in some fantastic vacation point on his old world; He wouldn't be rich enough to be able to afford this, nor would be he lucky enough to win a trip. He was summoned here, his luck has yet to be determined as good or bad, but it was his luck and his own abilities that caused that thing, Omni to summon him. And instead of trying to figure everything out, he'd been lazing about on the beach and enjoying a war free life. But War called to him, fighting was in his blood, it was all he knew before this moment in time, and he would always remember the lessons. After all, they were printed onto his body in the form of scars. "I saw a po-"
"Yes! Yes, the posters. Of course. You are looking for a challenge, I can see it in your eyes! I can tell you are a fighter, why look at yourself!" He made a big show of throwing his hands in front of him to motion to the man who'd walked up to his table. He also sounded strangely like a salesman who had something underhanded to gain from this all, but he was a merely a man who knew how to make things sound grand. "I'd wager anything that you are a great fighter, I bet you have power! Of course you do, or you would not be here!! Not just here in this spot, but this place! And soon, in this tournament. I just need you to do me one thing, and one thing only." He slapped down a form from some unseen pocket of paper work, and then twisted and ink pen in his fingers before offering it to the lost dog before him. "Fill this out, and you too can be in the biggest event, yet."
Dust tentatively took the pen without thinking about it, and then turned to the paper. His head wasn't thinking about why he was filling it out, but what he was filling out, and almost immediately he had questions. Before his pen could touch the paper, he looked up. "I have a lot of names.. What should I put down?"
The man behind the table was stunned, but offered him a friendly smile, then shook his head. "Put down what you'd like to be called, then. Which name is your favorite?" Dust nodded slowly, then turned back to the page, that made a lot of sense. His hand dropped down, and he began to fill out the Dante's Abyss Registration Form:
What is your name?
Hokori Star Dust
How long have you been in the Omniverse?
I wouldn't know, it feels like months, but perhaps a year.
Where do you live in the Omniverse?
Costa del Sol.
What is your current job?
Beach bum. Currently unemployed.
What was your life like back in your own world?
I didn't have an opinion of it then, but now I think it was unpleasant, unbalanced, unjust..
Why are you joining Dante’s Abyss?
I've gotten lazy, I need to kick myself back into shape. This will do.
When he was finished, the man put the pen down before he realized he completed a form to join something he might not be fully prepared for. Never mind the undetermined time between his life threatening fight and now; He had nod idea yet if he could even fight outside of the basic combat.
However, before buyer's remorse - a new experience for him to say the least - settled in completely, the man behind the table snatched it up and after a glance at everything, as quickly as he made it appear it disappeared. "Good, good." He came around the counter, grabbing the much larger man by hooking his arm over the bulky but bare shoulders. It was a slight bit awkward but the guy seemed unfazed by it. "Dust, you're going to do great. I can tell!" The Syntech rep explained, then lead the man around to the metal circle. "Best of luck my friend." He added, and then with a gentle smack across his bare back and a push, Dust was shoved into the circle shortly before it activated. He got one last look at the guy, as he waved before he vanished!
