Warren needed information about the ring so he could judge whether or not Cole joining the Empire was going to make his plans to oppose them harder than the plans already were. Opposing the Empire was difficult because of the number of men that they had at their disposal. Dealing with the problem of the Storm Troopers was going to be one headache that the Quarterback of Chaos didn't need. Until he got stronger he knew he was nowhere near capable enough to even handle one squad of them, let alone the whole army that the Empire had patrolling Coruscant. Given Palpatine could summon more of them as well any work he did to eliminate them would simply be undone in an instant. It was not a pretty thought, to say the least, that he couldn't succeed at what he intended on succeeding at.

Warren summoned up a viewing screen, showing the warehouse he was working in. Moments later the Storm Troopers busted in and damaged work that he had made, leading to Warren reacting by taking a hostage which eventually led to him being forced to clean vehicles as "community service" although Storm Troopers threw filth onto the vehicles and pounded him during his efforts to clean up the vehicles. It was one of the reasons Warren had promised himself that he was never going to trust the empire. If they were willing to do things like that, they were definitely not an organization that deserved his help. In addition given that he had far reaching plans for the Omniverse Warren knew a lot was at stake if he were to trust the Empire. If he were to do so he'd run the risk of getting stabbed literally in the back by the Empire. Some of them wielded lightsabers according to what little information on them he possessed.
This was why he knew he needed more weapons at his disposal because he couldn't survive without having the proper tools. Developing equipment to better allow him to survive in the Omniverse was a wise idea. Hard Light Technology in that regard could level the playing field some against some of the more powerful Primes out there. Still, it wasn't going to be enough on its own, unfortunately. At times like these Warren wished Ricky were more powerful so that he could put the Prime to use doing things he didn't want to, like fighting against the Empire. On the other hand, however, if Ricky were more powerful there was a risk he could double cross Warren.
"I will soon be heading out to attempt to develop the Hard Light Technology. Keeping in mind what you said about the Emotional Spectrum I may or may not attempt to incorporate it into plans to have suitable defenses for myself." exclaimed Warren with a smile on his face for the moment because right now he had something he hadn't had in a long time. There was actual hope that he could succeed at one of his inventions, rather than fail miserably like he was used to doing here in the Omniverse.
