Aang was suddenly relieved that he had not eaten much today, otherwise it would be on the ground... Lysandra, on the other hand, looked pale as a ghost. She had nothing to say on the topic, but chose to depart the warmth of the fire to sit beside the sky bison, almost burying herself in the thick fur.
"I know the feeling," said the Avatar. "I used to be arguably the greatest bender in the world. Namely because I could bend all four. My wife Katara was one of the best Waterbenders, and my teacher Toph was one of the best Earthbenders." It was a short moment of rambling, namely because he was really starting to miss them now.
Distancing himself from individuals, he focused more on the act of bending. "In my world, we had four elements. You are born a Bender, and what type is inherited from your parent. If you have two bender parents of different elements, you could very well be either type." But not both, he implied.
"But Bending isn't really that outrageous. My friend Sokka was a normal human, but he grew up to be a Grand Swordsman. We even have this one ally... she could stop a Bender, and paralyze the body just by touching you. She might have even stopped you." He chuckled at the thought of a god-like being being stopped by this woman. "She was a Chi-Blocker... and you and I both rely on Chi."
When he thought about the different ways they bend, he could not help but think how similar they were. Watching the way the golden hand floated, Aang punched the soil beside him. His hand sank into it, but retracted with a stone glove. It encased his hand, yet he wiggled his fingers as easily as if it were cloth. Thrusting his hand forward, the glove broke apart, left his hand, reassembled and flew in a straight path till its fingers dig into the bark of a tree. "I have to focus a lot more on it, and I can't bring it back... In fact, it feels like I can't control anything beyond just a few feet..."
