“Whoa whoa wait. You eaten dragon before?” Millie asked, reaching across the table and grabbing Arle by the shoulder. The smaller girl meeped softly and looked up at Millie with wide eyes. Had she said something wrong? Was it wrong to eat dragon here?

Apparently not, if Millie’s sparkling eyes were any indication.

“THAT’S SO AWESOME!” Millie shouted. Mr. Jingles looked up at the mercenary with an irksome expression. He had been in the middle of licking himself; now was not the time for yelling. The archmage went back to his personal care with a flick of the tail. Arle grinned sheepishly.

“I-is it? I guess…” Arle said, pinching the ends of her hair slightly. Mr. Jingles hopped off the book stack, and Arle found her hand suddenly moving to pet him, almost reflexively. Mr. Jingles leaned into it with a contented purr.

“So, school huh? What’s at school? Magic learnin?” Millie asked sitting back in her chair. She wanted to eat some dragon now! The thought was making her hungry. Arle turned the question over in her mind.

“Well yes, but friends too…” she said softly. Millie gave her an apologetic expression. Nobody got out of the Omniverse, but she felt bad crushing this little baby Prime’s hopes like that. Maybe later, she’d have to. Or maybe she’d figure it out herself. Either way, Millie quietly picked up one of the useless books that had been delivered to her.

“Well...not gonna get anywhere by sitting around all day gurl.” Millie said, her tone sounding more defensive than she had intended. In all honesty, though she had been so quick to barge into the laboratory, Millie was out of her element in this scholarly setting. The point was driven home when Arle actually showed a bit of spine for once.

“Maybe, but I’m not going to run out into the world unprepared. I need to study first.” she said in a flat tone. The sorceress flipped open one of the tomes that had been delivered to her as Mr. Jingles helped himself to her lap.

“M...me too…” Millie said, blushing slightly. She was bored already...
And, we dream of home I dream of life out of here Their dreams are small My dreams don't know fear I got my heart full of hope I will change everything No matter what I'm told How impossible it seems We did it before And we'll do it again We're indestructible Even when we're tired And we've been here before Just you and I
Don't try to rescue me I don't need to be rescued
