He took a delicious bite of the fruit while Appa continued forwards towards the gate at a steady pace. He sympathized with the animal, just a bit. "Perhaps there's something wrong with the Chi in the Omniverse?" he asked, thinking. "I cannot fly. Your bison cannot fly. Your bending and my Fist of God have both been weakened severely."
"That could be it." Aang said, the man frowning, "In which case it's unlikely we'll ever get them back."
"That can't be it- I've seen flying animals before in Coruscant."
"You have?" Aang asked.
"Yep. And they used wings." she said proudly, "Not that Appa's any less adorable for not having them." she said again, cooing as she reached into the fur closes to the edge of the saddle.
"He really can- could fly."
"Sure."
Aang sighed, dropping it for now.
Chakravartin looked out across the void, noting that the Fountain had changed its form once more, as they passed it by. Lysandra looked at it with some amazement, this being the first time she had every gone so far from Coruscant. Chakravartin ate another fruit, and closed his eyes, focusing on his Omnilium. One could make objects with a few minutes concentration, as he had with the mercenary leader's crutch. One could also make animals- though both of Aang's summonings had taken a good deal longer than Chakravartin's simpler construct. Perhaps the more complicated it was, the longer it took to create it? Or perhaps Aang, because he was summoning something he knew, just put more effort and care into creating them?
Either way, it presented him with a new avenue towards True War.
His plans had gone askew in his old universe with the near-extinction of the Saru- the species he had found to be the ones closest to the ideal of True War of any warrior race he had come into contact with. He wondered briefly if the five children he had made on Earth were exterminated by the humans in revenge for his own transgressions, before putting them out of mind. They lived, or they didn't.
He could make more Saru children then, and he can make more Saru children now. But this universe worked on different rules. If his own body was so limited- even as something called a 'Prime', would Secondaries that have been similarly limited still be the best tools to bring about True War? Or in the Omniverse, was there a different species better suited to it?
Either way, creating people from nothing was still possible. He could still build an army, Saru or otherwise.
"I think I can see it." Aang said, looking ahead towards the clean stone archway that represented the entryway to Camelot.
"I wonder what it'll be like." Lysandra said.
Chakravartin considered the gate, what new possibilities existed outside this white emptiness?
