Cole and Walker listened as Warren asked about the power source. Cole saw something on his face, perhaps arrogance, which made him rather suspicious. But the look did not last long before Warren went back to looking... well, like a normal citizen of Coruscant would. Warren asked whether he could change the power source of the ring, to which Cole scowled. This man clearly didn't want the ring to spread Hope, nor did he have Hope in his heart, as all Blue Lantern Corps members did. If he did, he wouldn't bother asking.
"No, you cannot," Walker answered Warren, looking to see if this disappointed him. Walker considered telling him about the other Lantern Corps; they had basically the same design of power ring as the Blue Lantern Corps, but with different emotions powering them. And all power rings had, ultimately, been based off of the Green Lantern power rings, so it was possible that through examination of the science behind the ring and the emotional spectrum, one could make a ring that operated under a different emotion, or none at all. But to tell Warren this would simply be enabling him to make a poor choice, perhaps leading him down a path of Rage, or Fear. Certainly not paths one should take. At least, that's how Walker felt. Cole did not share his feelings.
"There are other rings, though," Cole interjected, "They're powered by other emotions; Rage, Fear, Greed, Love, Compassion, even Willpower. You may not be able to change that ring specifically, but you may be able to use it to make your own ring."
"Although, of course, I trust you would make the right decision, and not choose an emotion that would be harmful to anyone." Walker glared at Cole. It should have been obvious that Walker didn't want the man to know about the other rings, not yet. And though Walker didn't claim to be better than any other man, he was far more experienced than Cole. Certainly more capable of determining whether a stranger should know of the boundless power of the emotional spectrum. But, whether he was right or not, Warren knew of the power rings now. Nothing Walker thought would change that.
