Kaine wasn't sure what to expect when he opened his eyes. Maybe a prison of some sort. Maybe he'll, he wasn't sure. But the only thing that assaulted his vision when his eyes fluttered open was a blinding white light.
Wincing as he shielded his eyes, The Scarlet Spider sat up, his mind racing at a million miles an hour. But it all halted as he started to remember.
This is not the world you know...
Removing the mask that concealed his face, the weary face of Kaine Parker came into view, the grim visage appearing even more brooding than usual.
"I'm crazy. I've finally lost it. That's the only explanation. Either that, or I'm dreaming." He leapt up, the flexible material of his suit making the act too easy. He landed on the edge of a fountain. Simple in design, Kaine found that it reminded him of the fountains he had found on his visits to New York, where Peter lived. He stared back at his reflection in the still water, almost as if he were looking for some secret in the dark water. The last thing he remembered before the man who called himself Omni was Loomworld. And before that, Jennixs' home world. Ben, Jessica, and himself had gone there to destroy the cloning facility. To make the inheritors mortal. To make them vulnerable.
Kaine, don't-
Don't what Ben?! This isn't Mysterio or some idiot in a Goblin mask. We're fighting Extinction!!!
Kaine flinched back as the memory played itself in his mind, nearly toppling off the lip of the fountain. He remembered killing Jennix. Then later, Ben Reilly, one of the few people that treated him like a person. Like his own person. Dead. He could feel the familiar rage build up inside of him. The familiar presence of the monster that dwelled within him. The Inheritors called it The Other, but Kaine didn't care to give it a name. It was a monster, and monsters didn't deserve that kind of recognition.
Whatever you do, don't, I repeat, don't go to Loomworld!

Thy killed Ben, Peter. I'm gonna make them pay. They're vulnerable. I'm going to kill them.
I'm gonna kill them all!!!
He didn't remember much else after that. Just a few flashes. But he could live without those memories. He doubted they were pleasant. Deciding to try and find another person who he could get info from, he pulled the black mask back over his face, blinking his eyes behind the red lenses as his eyes adjusted. He wasn't Kaine when the mask was on.
He was the Scarlet Spider.
Leaping off the fountain, he cast his eyes around the white landscape, searching for anyone. He didn't notice the unconscious body at his feet until he almost tripped over it. It was no wonder. The white uniform blended in perfectly with the landscape. He looked closer at the figure his eyes widening as he looked at the emblem on the chest. A crescent moon.
The Moon Knight.
