Not bad. Not exceptional, but if taking away from the lesser thieves was hard, then one couldn't really consider themselves a great thief.
The figure leaned against a tree a safe distance away from the grumbling man who had packed up his supplies after scamming that poor woman at dawn. Darren couldn't help but get the feeling that he was being watched, and kept his senses on high alert. He wasn't along. Eventually, he came to a full stop past a small cluster of trees.
"Well, show yourself, I know you're following me, could hardly fool anyone when you keep smashing all the dry leaves under your feet."
"Well, I was just testing to make sure you aren't hard of hearing." A woman's voice called out as some movement passed through the thicket. Darren held his ground, taking a wide stance as he tried to prepare himself.
"And? Did you get your answer?"
"Not really, it still depends on how well you can listen."
The woman appeared from behind the nearest tree, wearing some weathered lace cloth and leather, arms crossed with a smirk on her face. Her brown hair hung just below her shoulder, long and straight, her hazel eyes showing confidence and curiosity. Something about the leathers she wore seemed to show an insignia, a diamond with a circle in the center. What a peculiar sign if Daren would notice it.
"I would congratulate you on your trickery of that poor woman back there, but even an amateur can pull something like that off. Tell me, what can you really do?"
"Wouldn't you like to find out." The man replied with a scoff.
"Well then it's settled, I shall accompany you and see what you have to offer." She stated plainly, walking past him.
"Okay, listen, lady, I'm not babysitting you-," he spoke and raised a hand as he turned to face her, before being interrupted.
"You don't have to, a woman like me can take care of herself, maybe even teach you a thing or two. So what are you waiting for, let's go." She smiled and stood still, waiting for his next move.
Darren stood for a moment, narrowing his eyes and sizing up the woman. Whoever this chick was, she was getting on his nerves. However, he could care less whether she followed him or not, so long as she didn't get in his way.
"Alright then, but don't call for help when you become the damsel in distress." He strode forwards, not really paying much more attention to the woman who presented herself. It was quiet for a long time after that as they continued along the road, not really finding anything past a few road signs and landmarks. Their footsteps alternating was the only conversation they had until the woman finally spoke up.
"A quiet one hm? Always so mysterious. You aren't going to fool me, even if you tried, so you might as well come clean. Something like this, " she said as she waved her hands around and took on pompous womanly attitude, holding her hands to the side as if she were royalty. "Oh my what a dashing rogue, how could my abductor be so handsome. My dearest, I humbly offer my name, Lisette, for you, stranger, to use whenever you find yourself so endearing, as you usually are~!" Her act was actually pretty convincing.
