Kill the Numbers [Dark Data]
#3
Word had indeed spread quickly. How could Miranda not hear of a battle brewing on this scale? Surely Kuzu-boy has already heard of it and planned to move in and place himself in the middle of that chaos. Sighing, the woman would shift out of bed, her boots pressing hard on the smooth stone flooring. Her clawed hands tightened the dragon leather eye-patch over her empty right eye-socket. Her weight shifted, testing the heavy coat around her as she stood to leave. Miranda saw Cinder before she saw Frost, a typical occurrence of their meetings.

"You've been waiting here for some time...", she'd say, stepping from the room to find Cinder standing crossed armed by her room's doorway.

"Kuzu's heading out. Claptrap is with him, what are you planning to do?", she'd ask, her dagger twirling casually within her palm. Miranda's influence on the girl has shown by her posture. She no longer was cold to Frost, but she wasn't quite warm to her as Miranda liked. She was a pawn to Kuzu and nothing more, that much Miranda could see.

"I figured he'd get his nose dirty in matters that doesn't concern the Blades."

"The more powerful he becomes, the better."

With this, Miranda couldn't help but laugh, her clawed hand waving the air as if to dismiss such a silly notion. "You young fool, as if he'd give you a taste of real power. When you are no longer relevent to him he will crush you and leave you to burn among the ashes.", she'd say, lightly tapping the edge of her claw upon her forehead, giving it a playful tap before turning to leave, following the pathways down to the main gates. "Follow me."

If she'd make haste she might be able to catch them, perhaps even persuade them to invest their energy more productive. Luckily for the white haired brawler, they were just outside the gates, talking to someone Miranda found suspicious, but only really because of Frost's inability to properly read that man. "Kuzu... what the hell are you doing? Did you even bother to check the fine print on those?", she'd say, a sharp claw stretched out at the chips  he carried, her eyes radiating a crimson light over the man who coaxed Kuzu into whatever agreement that was decided before her appearance.

The little rustbucket at Kuzu's side would turn towards her, its arms flexing imaginary muscles. "Fear not, white maiden! The Mighty Claptrap has this under complete and total control!", it said, twirling about in a carefree manner.

Shaking her head, she crossed her arms with a light sigh. "Trapster, the thought of you having anything under control worries me even more. You are a glorified comedian at best", she'd say, lightly brushing her claws over the little robot's head  as she passed it.

"What are your intentions... and what the hell are those?"
"I've been here before, used to this kind of war. Crossfire grind through the sand. The orders were easy: 'It's kill or be killed'. Blood on both sides will be spilled."
