Selling doesn't increase your Earned OM, so no.

The formula is on the rule page, under Character Swapping. It is: (current Earned OM-5000)รท2+5000.

Since that's confusing, here's an example: if you have 8000 OM Earned, subtract 5000 OM from that. That leaves 3000 OM. Divide that by 2 and get 1500 OM. Add 5000 and you have 6500 OM after the switch.
