[Participation] Dark Reign: Part one
#8
Koal walked forward, his eyes trained in the new captive, his face showing a sort of apprehension. Koal sat down, legs crossed in front of Doom, placing a small board on the ground. Followed by black and white pieces.

"Are you fond of chess, Doctor?" Koal asked, setting up the pieces. His violet eyes held an emotion akin to remembrance, sadness turning the corners of his mouth into a small frown. His fingers brushed the tip of a black pawn, the used ebony wood scratching beneath the thin appendages. Doom seemed rather apprehensive, yet intrigued; dark eyes flashed beneath Ed the dull metal mask. He picked up a piece, a knight, and set it in the board. Koal smiled and continued the game.

As each player took a piece, it would fade into the rainbow substance and flow back into Koal, and Doom found himself intrigued.

"I'm curious, Mr. Lynch, how long have you been here. Here being the omniverse?"

"Hm. Not really sure to be honest. A few months at least. Although time seems to work differently here as well, so I could be wrong." Koal grumbled and moved his room, knocking away one of Dooms pawns. Doom nodded his head slowly, anticipating the move. He moved his knight and took the rook, and so the game continued.

"So you would know a few things about this world. Would be so kind as to share that knowledge with me?" Doom elaborated, his hand brushing the metal plating that covered his chin.

"Well, there's not too much that I know, but I guess I could share." The swordsman coughed and sat up a bit straighter, beginning to speak again. "As far as I know, there are quite a few worlds here, all with factions struggling for sovereign territory. Primes, beings like you and me, are coveted for our powers of destruction and creation , as well as our inability to die.

"These collars we wear are designed to force primes to serve master whether they like it or not. If you don't follow orders... there are worse things than death." Koals tone became dark and grave, his eyes carrying a haunted gloom. He then held out a hand, and omnilium coalesced into a prism of rainbow colors.

"The omnilium that we carry within us can be used to created anything that you put your mind to, provided you have en-"

"Anything, you say? Interesting. I was under the distinct impression that it was useless, except for summoning little trinkets and other such minuscule objects."

"I can teach you how to use it, if you'd like."

"That would be very agreeable, Mr. Lynch. Very agreeable indeed."
