Tangerines

I was taught if you can't find something nice to say about someone
Then ask yourself why
Well excuse me if I prefer codependent narcissism to a ramshackle knife fight
I would just rather spend my time picking tangeriens than picking shrapnel out of meat grinders
and I'm not looking to pick my battles, or pick that ten ton dead bolt you keep on your bedroom door
I don't mind tiptoeing barefoot on glass eggshells, but if you want to make an omlette, you're gonna need some blood
Now, I came out swinging for the fences...
and you came out swinging from the rafters
I bought the brooklynn bridge and lit it up like the fourth of july
while you told yourself "i told you so"
Maybe if we took a step back we could get some perspective
Like, maybe you could see where your spurs caught me in the neck if you just stepped down off your high horse
Or maybe its hard for me to see the forrest for the trees
But honestly I can't see trees for tangerines

I saw a tear-gas cannister bounce off your upper lip
so i skipped a pipebomb across your lake and ended up short of a riot
Sorry.
It's like I always say
If you want a revolution, you'll have to be revolting.
So I took etiquitte classes from coyotes and hunting lessons from cobras
But if I had known that meant nothing to you, I wouldn't have bothered.
Maybe if we took a step back we could get some perspective.
Like, maybe you could see the piano lodged in my throat if you could get your head out of your ass.
In the meantime I'll just whistle
And play Xylophone with my ribcage, and turn my lungs to accordians
And string harps with my veins, and violins with my arteries
I'll use my heart for a kick drum and my snapping femurs for a snare
And ill dance around with my organs out playing circus music so you can eat your fucking tangerines
