After about a day of travel in the Nexus because he hadn't figured out how to summon vehicles, Warren had stumbled through a Gate. The Gate was one that led to the Frozen Fields, a place where intense cold and blizzards limited the visibility of whoever was inside of the place. Buffeted by the strong winds, and pelted by the snow Warren stumbled around blindly through the place. This was even more frustrating than his failed training at the hands of those quacks that he had tried to learn from in the forest. The quacks had not taught him much of anything, although he had to admit that he had learned one useful attack. The Chaos Burst was likely to come in handy when he truly needed it, but it couldn't be his only weapon at his disposal. No, what he needed was something more than a simple energy blast. He'd need a gun of some sort because being able to simply shoot his opponents? That was likely to be useful if they could somehow nullify energy based weapons. Yet, what kind of gun did he need? A pistol admittedly was his first choice, but he wanted something with a bit more kick to it. Having continued to trek through the Frozen Fields in search of anywhere that he could build Fort Zimmer, Warren eventually arrived about seven hours later at a part of the verse that was far from Amber's Fortress. The ice gave way with a crack, and Warren fell into what appeared to be an old and abandoned subterranean base. The base was obviously military of some sort but had long since been abandoned. Inside the base, there was a layer of dust and grime coating everything. Having channeled some Omnilium into a small lantern, Warren examined the place.
While it was not an ideal location, it was a start anyway. Crafting it into a proper Fortress for himself was going to be a piece of cake. At the mere mention of cake, his stomach grumbled at him. Sure he was hungry but he wasn't going to feed his face until his work here was done. For that very reason, he thought of how he could improve the location that he had now found himself in. The ice he had fallen through was a problem because it was so unstable. Replacing it with something more structurally sound was a wise idea. Concentrating for several seconds, Warren attempted to replace the ice above the compound he had discovered with steel reinforced concrete. Once he had done that, he started to envision what he wanted his HQ on the surface to look like. It would be a building made out of white metal and marble, Warren decided because that could blend in with the snow easily. It was going to be a six-story building, Warren decided. As for defenses, he didn't want any, yet. Spending the Omnilium to create such just didn't appeal to him because of how much time and effort it was going to take.
"I christen thee, Fort Zimmer 2.0."
Once he was situated in a lounge and sipping hot chocolate Warren thought about his earlier conundrum. Weapons were something that a lot of Primes had plenty of, but that he had only two of presently. There were many types of guns that could be used by primes. Rocket Launchers were one, but he didn't see himself using such. They were too loud and could run the risk of backfiring. A sniper rifle was one, but he doubted he was the type of person to shoot his opponent in the back or the head. Sure some of his schemes had been more subtle when he had been back home. However, any such schemes were likely doomed and couldn't succeed no matter how much he wanted it to. What he needed was something that was accurate to a point. Even if it was low in power he didn't care because he didn't want to miss his shots at his opponents, and thus lose to them in a battle. Sure he'd need more than whatever weapon he managed to create for himself. At least it would be a start at being armed.
After creating the weapon he smiled.
"Well, that's part of my to-do list taken care of." This was jubilantly stated by Warren as he walked through the corridors of the base that was now his. Earlier he had cleaned every inch of the place, and made it habitable once more. Eventually he was going to have to add defenses but for now that could wait. Once he had finished his evaluation of Fort Zimmer 2.0 Warren started the long trek back towards the gate to the Nexus. It was going to take him a while, but at least now he had somewhere he knew he could call home for himself. There was a lot of work to be done, and it couldn't be done here at home. After all anything worth doing required effort on his part.
