Doom's Dimension
#1
Rain dropped from the ebony sky, the bitter tears of the gods pelting Doom's armored body with a vengeance. Panting hard, Victor pulled himself up from his castle floor, raising his metal-clad hands to summon energy from the stolen powers of the god Odin. Resonating with immensely powerful energy, his hands began to glow; greenish flames flickered and sparked off of them as he raised them to the heavens, only then turning his burning gaze toward his enemies.

"Fools! You have accomplished nothing," Doom said, his voice resounding off the stone walls with such power that it seemed to rival even the steady roaring of the thunderclouds high overhead. His hands were poised for the finishing blow to at last wipe those intolerable heroes off the face of the planet when, suddenly, like the flame of a candle blown out by a simple breath, the power that had been coursing through his very being vanished.

"DOOM!" A deep voice boomed from up above. Frantically, Doctor Doom’s eyes scanned the clouds through the pouring rain, squinting against the occasional fork of lightning flashing across the sky.

"Odin! You can't be free!" he exclaimed, looking around in a panic.

"Your wretched scheme is undone and your black soul is mine."

Doom jerked his head up to the sky and glared, his fists raised in defiance.

"NOOO!"

A blue bolt of lightning struck Doom, leaving only smoke and the imprint of his mask emblazoned onto the ground.

"An eternity of suffering is the fate of those who challenge the gods."

Doom picked himself off the ground, awakening to realize the he was no longer in his castle or in Asgard. Looking around, he realized that he was floating, limbs listless and trailing against empty space, in a sort of void. A dark pit of nothing… was this to be Doom's eternal suffering? To be stuck forever in an endless expanse of absolute stillness, to never see his mortal kind again, to be in a silent hell forever? Doctor Doom took a few steps and studied the void of blackness, discerning that his attempts to walk were meaningless when trapped in a plane of nonexistence.

"Odin! I will be free; you will not be able to stop me from my return as I am DOCTOR DOOM!"

It was strange, for his words did not seem to carry very far within the pocket of unreality he was contained in. Not even echoes answered him. It was almost as if they hadn’t been spoken at all.

Victor shot his head back to the sound of energy discharging. Folding his arms, Doom analyzed the large figure that stood before him. The being was large with pure white skin and an unsettling smile. Doom found himself unable to speak, but how could that be? It was no easy task to control the great and powerful Doom, but the real question was, who was this being?

The strange entity began to speak.

“My name is Omni. This is not the world you know. This is the Omniverse. You interest me, so I have made you part of it. The Omniverse is a place that reflects the wishes of those who are part of it. But! There are rules. I will explain them only once, so listen carefully.”

Doom was troubled by the way this Omni spoke to him, as if he were a mere child and unfamiliar with the subtle patterns of the cosmos. Bah, Doom is no one’s toy— unhand me from this pity hold!

Before Doom could do anything,— if he could have done anything, anyway— Omni placed a colorful orb into his gloved hands. The orb glimmered with all the colors of the rainbow, vibrant greens, purples, yellows, reds and blues palpitating within.

What is this? Doom examined the orb in his hands with great distaste. A cheap orb intended for measly parlor tricks, no doubt.

But, Omni was not finished with his explanation. “This is Omnilium. It’s what ties the Omniverse together. Without it, you are nothing. With it, anything you desire can be yours. But you will need more than this. If you desire it enough, you will find it. You will find that using it comes naturally. Just think of what you desire most.”

Fool, you have ensured your own undoing in transporting me here! But, I must admit that you have interested me. Are there others in your plane of existence such as me, brought outside of their own free will?

The being did not acknowledge or seem to have heard his words, but answered his question nonetheless. “You will not be alone in the Omniverse. There are others. Of course, they, too desire Omnilium. Do not fear death. For as long as you interest me, you will be reborn."

Hah! Doom did not fear death even before being brought to this… Omniverse.

“That’s all you need to know right now. You’ll figure out the rest soon enough. I’ll be watching … and waiting.”

Indeed, we shall meet again, for you have invited the wrath of DOCTOR DOOM!

Before Doom could do anything else, his vision was overcome by total blackness. The smiling entity vanished from his sight, and the feeling of falling chased him down into the dark.
