Really, a very incredibly brief overview of Skadi's pre-Omniverse History
Quote:Skadi was born and raised in Skyrim, though she did travel a great deal during her life. After getting nearly executed- but escaping- in Helgen, she rejoined her Dark Brotherhood associates. Climbing the ranks, she found that she was the Listener, a long empty rank within the Brotherhood. After assassinating the Emperor, and the contractor who sent her on the job, she took control of the Brotherhood. Hurt by the betrayal of Astrid, she found herself happier wandering the lands of Skyrim.
She gets summoned by the Greybeards and sent through a medley of quests and other various happenstances that allow her to grow her power as the foretold "Dragonborn". This only causes her more issues as she gets attacked by cultists who angrily insist that killing her is the only way to pay respect back to their leader for her claims of being a "false" Dragonborn. Understandably unhappy, she kills the cultist and tracks down their homeland, being lead to the island of Solstheim: a miserable land of snow and ash, forgotten ruins and collapsing mines.
She finds out that their leader has been reaching out from some plane of Oblivion to mind control several inhabitants of the island into building shines to channel power back to him. Not in the mood to deal with this, she attempts to confront him, only to be knocked on her ass and heckled for the longest time through the theft of dragon souls. Tired of Miraak's shit, she becomes Herma-Mora's new champion in order to best him. Realizing his defeat, he offers to teach her all he knows should she spare him. She takes him up on this offer and learns from him, pretty much giving ol' Herma-Mora the middle finger.
She learns from him for a year, and when she figures out that he can teach her no more, she shanks him in the kidney and leaves him to the Daedric Prince of forbidden knowledge. She then finds Deathbrands armor and proceeds to return to Skyrim.
Only to be approached by the leader of the Dawngaurd and asked to look into an ancient crypt known for vampire activity as soon as she stepped onto the docks of Windhelm. She agrees because 'sure why not', but puts off the quest to study at the college and chase down the ancient lost writing of Shalindor. From this she gets drug to Sarthal where she has a mystical mind meld with a Psijic Monk and finds the Eye of Magnus. Soon enough though, the Thalmor assholeAdvisor at the college decides that he wanted to be god and goes banana apeshit crazy, trying to control the Eye itself. She and a few of the teachers best Arcano, and she sets off to finally investigate that crypt.
Only to be stopped by a highly intricate and unexpected invasion of the twisted Falmer. This guerrilla war sets her back several months, and has her joining into the stormcloak army to help push back the suddenly smart buggers. Halfway through this war, however, she sneaks away to the crypt she's been trying to investigate for months now.
Upon killing the various bandits and bloodsuckers inhabiting said ruins, she investigates a strange alter like device which only serves to stab her through the hand and use her blood to awaken the daughter of the first vampire.
She returns the daughter to the vampire heartland, gladly taking Lord Harkon up on his offer to make her into a full blooded vampire (mainly over having having the hots for said daughter). Due to this crush, she continues to help out the vampires. She has a decently hard time finding a moth priest and must hunt down two more Elder Scrolls, do a "prissy moth dance" and read the two scrolls herself and visit the realm of those bound to soul gems to find the Vampire-Mother. Following this she is sent through the last known sanctuary of the original Falmer to get the Bow of Auriel.
She returns to Vampire-Father with the bow and isn't all too shocked when he betrays her. With Serana's and Seeks-Many-Star's help, she slays the traitor and becomes the new Lady of the Volkihar Court. She decides that it would be smart to engage in a war and smite the Dawngaurd from the face of Nirn, and does so seeing as they are a fringe faction with little to no strong allies.
Eventually she joins the side of the Stormcloaks in the horrific civil war. She, unlike many others, did not join for the politics or religious beliefs. With her prowess on the battle field as a caster and summoner, and as she soon find out, her natural talent with the Thu'um, she turns the tide of the war from stalemate to victory. Following the victory, she is promoted to head of the Stormcloak forces. With this power, she assassinates High King Ulfric, gathers the combined forces of Skyrim, and rages a full blown extermination war against the Falmer.
She takes the seat of the High Queen by force, only to be heckled even more by Alduin. (Jeeze, can she ever get a break?) Annoyed by this, she takes herself to Sovngarde to best him once and for all- or at least, to the best of her knowledge and ability.
Having a long list of achievements behind her, people begin to worship her. She drives this with an Iron fist, believing that she is the chosen, a god by her own right. She curses the sun, turning it into a gaping black hole and turning the sky blood red. She has brought Nirn unto the reign of the Vampires, and this is where Omni summons her.
As you got older there were days of cold surrender
Days of shrugged whatevers folded in with days of shocking splendor
But as time advanced the lovely days were covered up from view
By an advancing melancholy haze that hovered near the dew
Yet there were moments
There were these pure arresting moments when you stepped outside your head
Outside your pain, outside control, outside the bullshit, out of body, out of rage
Outside the need to get it, get it? You will never get it, that’s okay.
