Erika walked through the dust and heavy heat around her. The black rocks of the Ashen Steppes were jagged and misplaced, requiring her to step high and low to get around them. Rocks that got in her path were smashed to pieces beneath her tiny fists. Although she not in much of a hurry, Erika walked a slightly faster than normal pace. She wanted to get home and take a nap.
The base was in the distance and could be seen in the mountain range. Anyone who had never been there would not see it if they had just glanced at it, but it was there. Erika approached the staircase and made her way up to the door.
After explaining her problems to Kuzuru, who was extremely skeptical about this ‘new’ Dawn, he allowed her in. He knew fairly well the effects demons can have on normal humans. The blonde headed to her room where her canine companion awaited her arrival. Though she was thrown off by Dawn’s new appearance, she had the same scent as before. Erika shut the door behind her and went to the fridge in against the opposite wall pulling out a can of soda. After closing the fridge she turned the heat up on the hotplate sitting on her small table and looked for a quick meal to make. A package of quick-fix noodles laid in the food cubby built into the wall. She grabbed a cooking pan and slapped it down on the hotplate after filling it with water. While she waited for it to boil, she noticed Rogue was out of food. The hungry dog pawed at the bag of food that laid next to her bowl. The assassin quickly filled it up to the brim and focused on cooking her noodles.
After lunch, Erika laid down in bed ready to sleep and recover from her wounds. It would be some time before she was feeling better, but when she did, it would be time to bring some worthless prime to their knees and make them beg for her mercy.
