Vision scowled.
"My databases are updated," he snapped, "It is a known fact that a hostile entity known as Diablo and an army of demons waged war on the Omniverse many years ago."
"I'm not that kind of demon, pal," the red-skinned demon muttered through grit teeth.
"Be that as it may," Vision said, anger lacing his metallic voice, "it is illogical to trust those who are born with an intrinsic hatred of humanity."
"I trusted you," Frisk snapped, "Didn't I?"
Vision froze.
"Query: are you referring to my origin as a-"
"You know what I'm talking about, son of Ultron," the pacifist whispered, "I thought you of all people might understand not to judge a book by its cover."
Vision lowered his head, constructing a suitable response.
"Alright," Frisk sighed, "I'm gonna look for some more clues. You guys start getting friendly."
"Whoa, whoa!" Hellboy chuckled nervously, "I came to help a kid in trouble. I didn't sign up to meet a racist robot's friends."
"Error: I am not a racist. I simply make judgements of individuals based on previously acquired evidence regarding their species."
Hellboy laughed cynically. "Right, I forgot. Racists are people, not robot-OWWWW"
Frisk jumped up and snagged both Vision and Hellboy's ears, pulling both of their heads down to her level.
"Request: stop."
"Not until you both start acting like grown-ups," Frisk growled. "You two start chatting, alright?"
"Kid, I am this close to-"
Frisk squeezed Hellboy's ear harder.
"OWWW FINE!"
Frisk turned to Vision.
"Very well," the android replied, "Release me."
Frisk let go of both of them. She crossed her arms and flared her nostrils.
"Now you kids behave yourselves while I'm gone, okay?"
Vision and Hellboy groaned. Frisk started storming off. Vision glared at her.
"Might I add that demons are known to defecate quite often?"
Frisk continued to walk and shouted back, "I don't care!"
Vision watched, dumbfounded, as the little girl marched off. Hellboy sighed.
"I need a drink," he mumbled.
Hellboy thumbed the beer in his hand, watching the table very intently, in case it might move. Across the table sat the Vision, who seemed equally intent on not moving. His blank eyes - which unsettlingly did not have irises - were the only things moving as he scanned Hellboy's face.
"Query."
Hellboy raised an eyebrow.
"Eh?"
"I have a query."
"Oh." Hellboy sighed. "Sure."
"How many souls have you consumed in the past-"
"For the last time," Hellboy snapped, leaning forward, "I'm not kind of demon."
"Error: bad logic. All demons are of that kind."
"Not me, pal. I was raised like a human. More than you can say, I bet."
Vision frowned a little.
"I am a human. A synthetic one, but a human nonetheless."
"Synthetic?" Hellboy smirked, "The word you're looking for is 'fake'."
Vision crossed his arms.
"Perhaps," Vision argued, "But I still assert that you are intrinsically hostile and therefore cannot be trusted."
Hellboy sighed and rubbed his brow.
"Well, what about that 'son of ultra' or whatever?"
Vision blinked. "I was created by a rogue AI named Ultron to destroy the peacekeeping organization known as the Avengers."
Hellboy smiled, a toothy grin. "Ha! So you're also intrinsically evil, right?"
"Not anymore," Vision scowled. "I have since been reprogrammed multiple times, particularly to be an Avenger."
Hellboy shrugged. "If you're such a human, you should know by now. You don't need to be a computer to be reprogrammed."
The demon took a sip of his beer and looked at Vision. The android could not respond.
