Once they had arrived at the market, Veritas sighed. For explaining this was going to be difficult. But he probably was going to have to elaborate on science, and cover a lot of subjects. Judging from the magic she possessed the technology of her home must be limited. Still, he did enjoy a good challenge. Explaining the sciences of an energy sword and laser pistol to a Pony, no... to an Alicorn Princess? One of the most challenging things he had ever done. Still it was going to be entertaining, at least.
"Strong magnetic fields, coupled with a very hot and dense plasma provide a candidate method for creating a sword like I am interested in. One possible material would be ceramics, which can be brought to very high temperatures without melting, softening or distorting. But a solid ceramic core doesn't work: When not in use, the hilt of the lightsaber dangles from the belt of a wielder, and the hilt is maybe 8 or 10 inches (20 to 25 centimeters) long. It would need some alterations though for the idea to work.
Essentially it's a sword, but with a blade of energy. Not sure on how the science or Physics of this place work... but I believe making one should be possible with Omnilium. "
