It was a losing battle, trying to fight this insane fool face to face. He could switch his game up, opt for a range or a melee approach at the drop of a hat, and his constant switch-up game made him able to outplay the soldier machine. His higher speed gave him an edge, able to maximize his range-shuffling tactics by darting in and out of his comparatively much slower foe's current range, harrying and exploiting his brief advantage until the switch was made again, and the man who claimed he was god was on the move again. It was infuriating, to say the least. But the expression of Colonel held only icy cold determination, rather than the brazen anger one might expect. Pale green eyes remained impassive, unblinkingly following the electrical-powered 'god' as he struck, dodged, and fully exploited his advantages with an almost contemptuous arrogance. He was either putting on a real show of not taking this seriously, or his arrogance was an entirely new level.
There was one thing Colonel had on his side that he could exploit. Every trick and tactic that Enel used against him, he could throw right back at him. And when he once more employed his tactic of leaping in, dashing and with the irritating grace only someone who could see the future could manage dodging the few attacks launched to keep him at day, the soldier navi put it to use. Just when ranged combat was no longer an option, and Enel's expression was at its most prideful, the machine drew his empty left arm back, and took a quick lunge forward. With a vague flicker of light, the form of a long, golden staff materialized in his grasp. And with a wide swing, he whipped it around, catching Enel about the midsection with a resounding clang, and a heavy, meaty crunch. "Gwuh!" Had he been on the ground, it would have sent the lightning-man staggering and reeling, his balance upset and gravity threatening to lay full claim to him. But he was merely knocked flying, several feet through the air, his teeth bared in some ugly facsimile of a grimace of pain, though the look in his eyes held only rage.
The next instant was a flare of lightning, lighting up the sky over the battle Colonel's attempt to follow up his result put to a swift stop as Enel's body coursed with lightning. He lifted his gaze, leering at the wretched little false-man who had just struck God. With his own weapon. The flickers of lightning that sparked before his eyes were enough to make even the unflappable cybernetic construct slow, blinking in surprise — a delay which would cost him dearly. A quick dash forward, and discharge of electricity, and the thoroughly enraged deity grasped the machine by his face, giving a hefty jolt of electricity and a mocking laugh. "Know your place, metal fool!" he gleefully mocked, before turning round and hurling the hefty warrior robot into the middle of the fray below.
Colonel crashed down with a heavy crunch of metal, and actually bounced once, the force of the enraged god's throw augmented by gravity reasserting itself on the stunned soldier program's chassis. He had scarcely regained his feet, his bearing still unsteady, when he felt someone literally pounce on him. "Surprise, toaster!" The woman from before. Her weight was all but negligible, but the hefty blow she brought down with one of her swords was less so. It battered him about one side of his head, staggering him wildly, before a second blow clanged off of his opposite shoulder, producing a shower of sparks. His comical display of getting battered and beaten around did not cease there, as with surprising grace and quickness, Joline had spun around to his front, one of her swords striking a long, cleaving arc across his chest, leaving a definite line scored through his navi crest.
That was where it ended. The next strike flickered in his mind, warning him of the imminent impact, and he lurched to counter it. Joline was already committed to her strike, and could do little more than brace for it as her own shield caught her sword, the sheer force behind the backhand deflecting her blow shattering it being hit by a boulder. The massive boot of the war machine swung up and hit her with a solid blow, right to the stomach, even as she desperately backpedaled, trying to save herself. She went flopping backward, comically and quite literally ass over elbows, sprawling on the ground. Her relief was short-lived, as there was a faint whoosh and a heavy, metallic thud, and her world went dark as the shadow of the artificial man loomed over her. Every instinct she had screamed one thing: MOVE. She didn't even need to see the future to know what was coming, and she tucked into a desperate move to the side, scampering and rolling away.
The ground where her spine had been just a moment before sported a worryingly large new hole, a huge metallic fist having smashed into it like a piledriver. The unblinking stare of the soldier navi lifted to stare at the young woman as she scrambled to her feet. "Okay, what the hell was that? That could have broken my back!"
The blade of his sword sparking and trailing a shower of excess energy, Colonel simply pushed off from his kneeling state, thundering across the ground. His expression never changed, and there was nothing to herald it in his stance, but it did nothing to diminish the dull sense of danger radiating from him. Joline could literally sense it. "Neo...SCREEN...DIVIDE!" The terrified girl could only desperately try to save herself as a huge Z of emerald energy roared toward her, the very ground cracking apart under Colonel's boots.
