“Youth today, so full of vim and vigor!” Chronoire said with a bright smile on her face, playfully swinging her feet as she eyed the festivities, slowly drawing nearer from atop the shoulder of Sebas. Combatants exchanged seemingly random blows, giving no indication of this being a faction war between Workshop and Tower Witches. Lightning flashed, striking at one blue-clad warrior to the ground, gunshots rang about, their owners firing in a panic, a well-aimed hammer blow nearly broke a red kid’s back. Not to mention all the cussing in the air! If she hadn’t already been smiling, the witch was sure she would be now.
“Alright, you stay out of this Sebas,” the red-haired girl ordered her familiar, placing a hand on his scaly head, ready to jump off. “I want to crack some information out of these guys myself.”
“Do be safe, my lady,” the crocodile responded, bowing his head respectfully as she pushed off of him. Chronoire’s cloak fluttered loudly behind her for a brief moment, followed immediately by her boots planting heavily onto the ground.
“Tell me Sebas, what do they call me?” she shot back, venom lacing her voice as she swept her hand out the side, power welling up inside of the witch.
“...Dead End.”
“Exactly!” she exclaimed as a two-toned purple sword popped into existence. With a quick gesture, the blade angled downwards and stuck into the ground just ahead of Chronoire, as she continued towards the battlefield. Swinging out her other hand, she conjured up another blade.
Lightning man is fighting man in black.
She drove that blade into the ground as well, and immediately set to calling up another one as she drew ever nearer.
Blue man is fighting woman in black. Cluster of four including two reds.
A third sword sprung up from her outstretched hand.
Number nine...
The witch’s eyes fell upon another blue-clad form, a peculiarly dressed ninja springing about for an opening in the clusterfuck of four. With how hard everyone was tunnel-visioning, this opening was perfect.
Chronoire leaned forward, putting all her weight into her right foot, before kicking off and charging forward, right towards her target, purple sword trailing behind her. Orange and grey flashed in the peripheral’s of Mitsuki’s vision. Alarmed, the boy swung around, arm shooting to his right leg. The witch’s fist surged forward, narrowly missing her opponent’s face as he hopped back.
Hastily, he withdrew a small metal weapon from his pouch and launched it towards his assailant. Metal clashed as the larger Oceanic Blade whipped around and batted it right out of the sky. Unsteady feet touched the ground as Mitsuki backpedalled furiously, and the blade shot forward, piercing the ground where his toes had just been. Chronoire grinned madly as she continued rushing him, putting on the pressure. Her arm swung out behind her, magical power reaching for the first blade she had planted and wrenching it out of the ground.
The ninja’s hands talked in a hurry, spewing out quick symbols as the sword tore forward. Wind sprung up out of the blue, slamming the sword out of the witch’s telekinetic grasp, and punching the breath right out of her chest. Seizing this opportunity, the blue warrior charged, a new kunai in hand. The redhead hardly had enough time to react, hand shooting down to the dagger at her belt and palm closing around the grip just as her adversary was upon her.
The black metal of the kunai flashed, scoring a red streak across the bridge of Chronoire’s nose, inches away from taking out her left eye. She gritted her teeth, dagger sliding out of its sheath with a muffled scrape. A brief grunt escaped Mitsuki as the steel blade bit into his side, and the ninja hopped back once again.
The witch swung her free arm forward, magic energy grasping the sword that had been knocked aside. Once again, Mitsuki’s hands danced, forming two brief symbols, and causing snakes, of all things, to surge from his sleeves. A quick gesture on Chronoire’s part slammed the sword towards the ninja, as she raised up her free arm defensively. The serpents lunged forward, fangs out as they tore into her sleeve. Pain flared up in her arm, and the witch had to resist every urge to scream. Just as quickly as they came however, they left, leaving only Chronoire, her mangled left arm, and Mitsuki pinned to the ground through his left foot.
I shouldn’t have taken that.
She laughed weakly, blood soaking into what remained of her sleeve. Her good arm slid the dagger back into its sheath, before reaching out towards the second sword, stuck in the ground behind her. Mitsuki’s hands scrabbled at the supposed grip of the blade nailing him to the blank ground.
“Now,” Chronoire said, voice steady from false bravado as she stepped forward, purple weapon trailing behind her in the air. “Care to tell me what’s going on here?” she gestured to the endless white of the nexus with her torn up arm, careful not to wince.
