The beginning of the End (Artefact Battle) (PvP)
#17
Feeling at his shoulder, Shay Cormac could feel blood gently smearing along his coat still. The bullet wound didn't hurt as much as it did only a few minutes ago, but it was about as painful as a stubbed toe, and that was enough to mess with his focus.

Jason Todd, the Red Hood, could be seen off in the distance cutting the woman Shay had came in contact with only before he was shot. The Templar's face scrunched up in anger as he moved onto others. Erik followed short. The strange blue-haired boy defended the masked man.

And still, Shay stood, only knowing somebody had to deescalate the violence. Somehow.

Picking up the pace into a heavy jog, Shay began breathing slowly, slowing his heartbeat to something manageable in a combat scenario. He kept going, the wound in the man's shoulder continuously dripping red, and...

That was where Shay's heart stopped. Skipped a beat. But for only a split second.

A loud crashing of metal could be heard. A figure of a man clad in dark armor previously flying above slammed onto the floor only a few feet from Shay.

That was where the pain stopped. But for only less than a split second.

It was at the short moment afterwards, Shay finally felt an electric jolt stabbing into his spine. Traveling through his veins like a knife, and stopping at his chest. The Templar fell to the ground, not even mustering the energy to groan in livid pain.

The Templar's ears rang intensely. He wanted to keep his eyes shut, but they opened eventually. Everything was blurry still.

Colonel, whom had a bit of a rough landing, was jumped onto by the limping woman Red Hood had previously sliced open. Everything turned into an absolute mess.

Eventually however, Shay could feel somebody approaching him from behind. No, not... approaching. It seemed to be... dropping down. Floating, even. Taking his bastard sword from it's sheath, Shay stabbed it into the ground of the Nexus. It was hard, solid. Like trying to stab through metal. The captain finally managed to balance himself on his knee, sword still in hand. He looked up again.

"How pitiful!" a voice from behind him seemed to echo. Shay began grinding his teeth as his grip on the sword he wielded tightened in a sudden burst of frustration.

"Perhaps then," the voice continued, "I'll play nice with you."

Knees shaking, the Templar pushed himself up. The terrible shaking in his legs stopped as soon as Shay picked himself from the ground, however. Adrenaline flowed freely within him, as if it were as raw of an energy as Omnilium. Slowly, he turned to face his new opponent.

"I, Enel-- or as you would know it, God, have decided to grant you the mercy of fighting me with my most base of weapons. Cherish it; for I don't have fun like this often!"

Shay looked at this Enel individual, referring himself to a deity of some sort. The Templar's face changed into an expression of fear, at least to Enel.

In reality, Shay was simply disgusted, observing Enel's 2 foot long earlobes. Pants baggier than that of an entire British cargo full of sugar. Worst yet, a staff in his hand which seemed to be made of gold.

Either way, the two remained silent as Enel walked forward, clearly amused. Shay looked down at the single sword in his hands.

Shaking his head, Shay sheaths the sword back onto his hip.

The Templar looked up, immediately watching as the 7 foot man feinted a high blow with his staff. The intent was clever, but Shay could see this 'God's' inexperience with the weapon from a mile away. As soon as Enel went for a low strike to the knees, Shay had already backpedaled away from the staff's range.

As expected, Shay watches as Enel uses the momentum gained from the missed attack to swing it right back around and hope it'd hit something. In that very moment, Enel felt a hand grasp at his shoulders, forcefully pushing him back where he once faced. In a hurry, Enel jabbed at Shay with the tip of his staff using all of the muscle he had, but the Templar had already tightened his grip around the weapon wielded by the self-proclaimed God.

Pulling him closer, Shay gritted his teeth as he pulled on the staff to knock Enel off balance, reaching for the man's ears since no hair was readily available to grapple onto. The Templar knew this would hurt.

Preparing for the worst, Shay roared as both of his hands violently pulled onto the man's freakishly long earlobes, pushing his head forward so the top of the captain's skull would collide with the forehead of his opponent. Still holding on for only a slight second afterwards, the Templar felt a terrible pain almost cruising into his body in the form of thunderous electricity.

Shay's hands shook, but watching the arrogant staff-wielding wizard by any other name fall onto the floor was enough pleasing to watch.

Meanwhile, Enel himself was absolutely furious. How care this simpleton mock him in such a manner after not being able to take a single jolt? He wanted to say something, but Shay himself had already spoken up.

"If you're done trying to trample all over me, I'd love to get somewhere with this."

Enel, still feeling at his forehead, stood immediately after the Templar stopped talking. Now slowing his breathing instead, the lightning God watched as sparks fly from his skin, feeling no pain and not deterred. The sounds of swords unsheathing from the robed man's sides amused Enel greatly enough that he replied.

"You make a mockery of me and not even give me the gratitude of knowing your name? Then, in that case..." Enel began, watching as the floor beneath him became distant. Shay squinted, almost surprised at the pale man's ability to fly.

"I will put you in your place, pissant!"

Quote:1,000 words on the dot according to wordcounter.net.

Colonel gets grounded by Enel, but unfortunately gets tackled by a very miffed Joline before they can continue fighting. Deciding to have a bit of fun in the meantime, Enel goes for Shay and shocks him with Bolt, expecting an easy target to down with his staff, but even more unfortunately gets headbutted by the Templar as he unsheathes his sword and dagger. Bad times ahead.

Enel used: Bolt.
