Veritas viewed himself presently as little more than a liability. It was true though. Without his science he didn't have much that he could do against a serious opponent. Battling anyone with more power than him which if Omni was to be believed was anyone who had been here for any leength of time was suicide. They'd have to avoid battles until he grew stronger if he was to travel with Celestia.
"Still if you would have someone who can barely fight right now travel with you, I would be honored to be your companion on this journey. So what do you say? Do you want me to travel with you, or not?"
